v Potters Bar

Recommended Posts

was a joy to watch how often we bamboozled the Potters Bar defence. all the team worked so hard to regain possession as soon as we did lose it and Potters Bar had no answer whatsoever

crazy how much difference there is between the performances we are seeing now compared to when we had a awful spell of form. the players seem united and all on the same wavelength and its resulted in some awesome performances

shame to hear Rummy will be leaving before the end of the season but i trust Bakes and Unders can get someone else in. no disrespect to Edwards or Short but can't see how either would replace what Rumbold adds. will be tough to identify sign and integrate a new player late in the season though

for now though its all about keeping this run going. 1 game at a time see where it leads us

Cracking performance on  the worst pitch of the season. All played well and the players seemed to be always aware of where their team mates were. I agree it is not easy to pick a man of the match but if pressed I would say Sean Fraser who didnt put a foot wrong all afternoon. There were sensible and timely  uses of the subs so credit to all 14 who participated.

As for the loss of Rummy, I would say that a returning Guy Hollis is a plus to balance that undoubted minus.

Already looking forward to Tuesday.................and three more points

i think we will have sealed our fate by the time rummy intends to leave us.

6 games until then, wouldn't back against 6 wins either... Forget the play offs, the league title is back up for grabs!

As much as Leigh Rumbold has been a quality signing and has been superb on the pitch, the key man in our team is Ed Smith.

Ed is the one we need to keep fit, rolled in cotton and playing regular to reach the play-offs.

It is a big blow losing Leigh at such a crucial time,as the team has looked so balanced since his arrival but I have faith with our managers, that they will know how to rectify the problem of his departure.

Worst pitch but what a cracking game it produced! Credit must not only go to Potters Bar but to the Ref who gave the game the go ahead.

I'd rather watch a game played on a muddy pitch like yesterday than some of the hard bobbly pitches we seem to encounter.

Agree that if and when a fit Guy Hollis returns it will be a big plus but don't think it will balance out the loss of Rummy.

Our 3rd goal was a strange one.

When I saw the ball roll lose behind the goal I though Ed had missed only to see our players celebrate a goal after the ball had gone through a hole in the side netting.

Strange that the officials never attempted to repair the goal net.

Gutted to hear we will be losing Rummy. Think he has been excellent.

Thought yesterday could have been a potential banana skin but sounds like a cracking performance and good to have Ed back banging in the goals.

Looking forward to Tuesday, COYR

Another great performance by the team.  I was worried that the pitch would cause us problems however some of our football was excellent.  We are certainly hitting some great form at the right time and hopefully the teams around us will continue to drop points.  With two home games to come we have to keep this winning run going to Daventry in a couple of weeks.  Some very well taken goals too, could easily have been more.

Keep it going lads, COYR!

Well after a very dodgy "unaided" walk through mud I took one look at the pitch and thought surely no one could play football on that, glad to say I was wrong very enjoyable game.

Thought Adam was brilliant but with all the different opinions on mom, just goes to show how good they all were, especially Sean who I think often doesnt get enough credit.

Sorry to hear about Leigh going he was going to be one of my favourites, talking of which, when is that Guy coming back !!

Great to hear that Rummy will be coming back to us next season.

To have someone like Rummy on board, is this something we will have bear that he will be going back to the USA from end of March til November?
