Very disappointing that we have lost another match at the QE2, due to the weather, despite the hard work put in by Jack and our loyal supporters.

We have no control over the weather, and the rain this winter is the worst since records began. Very difficult to prepare and maintain a pitch in this climate, particularly with continual rain falling on a saturated surface. Today, three matches, including our own, were called off in the Ryman Premier Division. With fixtures now piling up, we have got to hope other results go our way.

Was under the impression we had a good playing surface at the QE2. Does our pitch have a drainage problem, or is it simply suffering from excess usage?

I dont think it is excess usage. There was a lot of rain Thursday night and when I walked my dog down the tow path on Friday morning there was more water lying there than I have ever seen. It had dried somewhat this morning but still very wet.

Our front garden has got some puddles on it which I have never seen before and our back garden the grass has either worn away to mud or died.

Definitely the worst winter for rain in living memory. Let's hope it doesn't become an annual event!

Not sure what the solution is, but certain everyone at the Club is doing what they can to address problems and get matches on.

Steph, think you are going to need your wellington boots for some time yet!!

Calling a game off at 9.30am on a day that promises to be mainly dry and sunny does seem odd..(not the first time this has happened this season)..I'm afraid that in order to get this season finished, pitch inspections are going to have to be left to nearer the kick off time,Even if it means that decisions are made after teams have started travelling.

I no you are all disappointed that we've lost another Saturday. After reading comments, on Facebook, twitter and the forum a lot of people cannot see why we was off. As you all would of noticed in recent games we've had a couple of bad areas on the pitch, the far corner and the town end penalty area. The reason the game was off today was because it was dangerous this is due to a drainage problem ware the pitch has subsided. Myself and the board are aware of what we need to do to rectify it. I apologise for what's happened myself and the club will take every step to rectify this. We appreciate we have a problem we didn't expect the weather condition to be quite so bad, but plans have now been put forward that the drainage will be sorted at the end of the season. We all really appreciate your concerns, I'm sure no one is more disappointed than George and the players with today's game being off. I can assure everyone a lot of time and hard work has gone into trying to get it playable, in the last few weeks not just by myself but many other people. Once again I can only apologise we will all continue to ensure all future games will be played.

Please don't take this the wrong way but as someone who has been at the club I know how hard Jack works along with a few others to get the pitch in good order. However when the pitch was laid no drainage system was put in as it was thought the sand based surface wouldn't need one. There in lies the problem. Jack works really hard but he has to deal with what he has . All pitches should have drainage systems as a pre requisite of being allowed to play at this level of football. Cheshunt 2 miles away rarely has a problem .
