Horley Town 1 Molesey 0

Great win for Town who weathered the storm in the 1st half with our keep being the best player on the park. A great second half strike from kylie Hough to get us the goal and three points.

He should be so lucky :)

I'm intrigued by what this fine was for?

John does a lot of good work for Molesey. His web site is great and updates regularly, while he keeps many people informed with his occasionally passionate views, which were hardly in the same league as the libellous tweets made by that other account that has been referred to in another forum.

In fact if many other clubs could learn to keep their fans as informed as he does, things would be better all round.

Can someone advise exactly what it was that was deemed to be over the line, so we can all learn from this.

I might consider changing my twitter account name to South Park FC. Could they lose points for a really bad tweet  :)

South Park 3-1 Wood - A toned down report here - http://spiderbee.tripod.com/cwufc/id18.html

Knowing Chris as I do, I'm glad he took some time to 'tone' his report down.

Having said that and having stood by Chris on many a touch-line, I can only say the standard of the officiating men in black must have been next to abyssmal.

CC is one of the most open and honest.

Never mind Chris  -  Tomorrow is another day.

South Park 3-1 Wood - A toned down report here - http://spiderbee.tripod.com/cwufc/id18.html

I was at the game last night, I think the referee was let down by his assistants last night more than anything. The big decisions were: the foul in the build up to Chris Smith's second, which could easily have been given on another day but was on the referees assistants side and he did not flag. Adam Pullin's header which appeared to be pulled back from behind the line by the keeper (I was sitting in the stand right behind the goal with a great view) again the assistant didn't flag to award the goal. Park could easily have been awarded a second penalty with a more blatant foul than the first - again in front of the same assistant.

Apart from those three I don't think the referee had a particularly bad game, albeit if we had lost I would most definitely be more aggrieved!

A refereeing adage springs to mind: A referee can commit suicide in a game; the assistants can commit murder...

South Park 3-1 Wood - A toned down report here - http://spiderbee.tripod.com/cwufc/id18.html

There have been a fair few grumblings of late regarding referees. In Chris' defence, he is one of the more calmer people who post on here so on reading that match report, the officials must have been desperately poor. Tis a shame though that they only appear to get stick from the losing side. I wonder if anyone from SP would be as honest in their opinion of events? I have seen some excellent refereeing performances this season and some shocking ones so how about some unofficial ratings on here after games? I would be happy to take feedback and then report scores out of 10 and any comments anonymously to protect identities of those making them.

You could take the score from the winning team (out of 10) and the score from losing team, then divide the total between two to give the refs score. Would be interesting to see the difference in scores from winners and losers.

Example: Winner scores 10, loser scores 5, refs score 7.5

So we are both biased then?

The club side assistant did virtually nothing all night and if you missed the two blatant pens for us you must have left your "excellent view" behind that goal! (or the view aint that good)?

I did agree re Park's "2nd penalty" btw.

I went to a game on Tuesday at Burnham Ramblers v Harlow Town. The home side were absolutely crucifying the assistant on one side for an alleged offside that they felt should have been flagged in the build up to Harlow's late goal.

Apart from the fact that it wasn't offside, they were totally blinkered to the fact that they were 2-4 down by that point and this goal with seconds remaining made it 5-2. It should have been

nearer 10-2 actually, so good were Harlow until they got in front of goal.

The point of the story here is that sometimes a ref's (or assistant's) decision costs you the match but more often it is a convenient excuse to use. It sounds to me like South Park were comfortable winners here anyway, regardless of a poor decision one way of the other.

I agree South Park deserved to win over the 90 minutes. But it was far more than 1 poor decision. The second goal came just as we were getting into the game and our solid penalty shout would have made it 3-2 (if scored) with 10 to go. I agree that there were poor decisions against SPFC as well but we DEFINITELY came off worse. And 2 SPFC officials agreed about the referee's performance overall on the night. Definitely not sour grapes on our part just frustrated that MANY key decisions went against us. Oh, and we were invited for a pre season friendly as well so get on fine with SPFC = always good games between us just ruined by incompetence. I would love to hear the assessors point of view!

Middlesex Premier Cup Semi - Final

Bedfont & Feltham 3 Hanwell Town (Reserves) 1

Attendance - 25 (Head Count)

A good game of football played by both teams and on another night we could have won the game with the amount of good chances we had but Bedfont & Feltham took their chances and there second goal was very well taken. Bedfont & Feltham's first goal was scored by ex Hanwell Town player J.Molloy and it was also good to see another Hanwell Town old boy M.Kinsella playing for Bedfont & Feltham.

Always enjoy my visits to Bedfont & Feltham FC good club and good people.

Good luck to Bedfont & Feltham in the final.
