Watched Kent Athletic yesterday, one of my favourite clubhouses. Kent look a decent outfit capable of doing well in next division but they can't go up. I thought i recognised a number of their players, 5 or 6 definitely too good for that division.

I heard a rumour that Kents were approaching Harpenden about a ground share to go up.

Broxbourne B 2 - 3 Belstone

 

 

So after a few weeks work away in the isle of man on a drainage contract i managed to make it back in time for our local clash with Bedmond. Caught up with some old faces down at Toms Lane and other than the sending off (disgraceful tackle) it was a great game to watch and a good days work for Hobbsy and the boys. 12 years its been since we've seen a cup final day out ... And we couldnt have asked for a better draw than to get our arch rivals Oxhey Jets(aka Belstone) And this mob cant be all that after they just struggled to beat a scratched together Broxbourne side in extra time to get there ... With The attacking class of Lynsky , Tompkins and Armstrong this midweek March evening at Letchworth is only ever going to finish one way ...

Interesting your comments on Beoxbourne Rendon. Do you not think they're still in with a chance of promotion?

I wouldnt of thought so after a whole entire squad leaving mid-season, Unless they've gone and basically done what Ware done to them. To much of a transition in such a short period. Its a shame becuase there prob the only team this season that really taught us a lesson when they won 3-1 and I was hoping to see the same team try do that again now we have the likes of midfield brute Stevie Noonan back in the side.

I don't know why you pick up a few local div2 lads! Daly at Kents and Currington at 61 could sort out your strike force problems at Crawley!

Or Farley Boys Stevie Snoxell! He knows that goal net better than Trawlermen with a fishing net.

We did try in the summer to strengthen with a few div2 players in mind but the 'mates' factor is quite strong at the likes of Totternoe, Kents, 61, etc so really hard to drag them away from that.

Could be seen as a lack of ambition, or big fish small pond, or maybe some money is being exchanged, but mostly just those lads want to turn up have a laugh with their mates most prob win and get on the beers after.

Kentish Town lost 7-0

I heard on the grapevine that the great James Noonan was back playing in goal for Kentish Town so, as I said, I've no idea what happened, maybe they only had ten men or had a player or two sent off
