Slough v Dunstable

I just like seeing the teams/systems other supporters would choose,as well as thinking what I would do.A bit of fun to liven up the forum.

3-4-3 for me!

Woozley, Foulser and Hollis

W. Harris, McClurg, Rumbold and Wheeler

S Harris, Smith, Dyer

If Dunstable came to defend we'd beat them 6-0...... and if they played an open game it would be 7-4! ;)

I would like to see a 3-4-3 with the squad we have. Can't see it happening anytime soon, though.

I like your optimism with the scores,Curtis. Wouldn't it be good if we put 6 past them and kept a clean sheet !

No harm dreaming.

Think a 3-4-3 would be nuts. Mainly because (for me) our full backs have been superb for last month.

What says you can't play Sean Fraser and Ryan Parsons on the right side and left side of the centre midfield four?

That way they could operate as wing backs.Nothing says you have to play wingers.

Up front if I was playing three attackers I would use either Wazza,Wheels or Jake behind the front two strikers, again in a free role.

A good thing for us at present is that, like last week, we have a really strong bench....and this season the use of substitutes has been mainly good.

Still hope Guy is one of those on that bench.

I think you're spot on there,Graham C. Having astute managers who read the game well, has made for better changes, in the way of substitutions.

This certainly wasn't a Steve Bateman strong point. Not criticising the players he would have at his disposal on the bench, as we all know Steve was very good at getting top names to the club but it has to be said he often took off the wrong players or under used his subs and was so predictable in the times he bought them on ie 15 minutes from end of 2nd half,5 mins from end and 2mins from the end, was his usual if using all three!

Mostly he would use only one !

Excellent result and performance after at last a referee's decision went our way. Kyle Anthony sent off early on presumably for violent conduct after a high foot on Wazza.

Found it very hard to pick a MOTM today as it was a cracking team performance. Back four were superb, with Foulser eventually winning the battle with their wily number 10 and an excllent performance capped with a right footed goal from Ryan Parsons.

Another good performance from Hatchet, two goals from Smith, Warren excellent as usual and Jake Parsons probably had his best game in a Slough shirt. Opted though for Rummy who was everywhere and took charge of the game.

Good stuff, all we can do is keep this run going, get the points on the board. COYR

Great result. Dunstable look like a team who are destined to miss out on play offs. They were poor and tbf if the ref had been semi decent at the way game we would have beaten them then too. Nonetheless a great team performance. My mom would have been warren Harris but can't disagree that rummy was excellent today.

looks like the players were so up for this especially with what we went through in the away game. every player looked fired up and put in a great performance

Sommerville probably hasn't had an easier game all season for us in goal. not sure he was challenged with a shot of note all game,

panic button signings didn't pay off at all for Dunstable and in fact some of their debutants had nightmares. our players had superb attitudes whereas some of Dunstables were embarrassing.

big big credit should go to Bakes and Unders who have managed to turn around our slump and the team looks so so much stronger. rather than panic and sign loads of players they identified the areas that could be strengthened and Cornell Rumbold and R Parsons have done really well.

cannot rest on our laurels though still so much work to do to get in those playoffs. dragging Dunstable into the mix gives us even more chance though only 6 points behind them now

Excellent performance and a clean sheet to boot.

Easy to say Dunstable looked poor but I think we made them look poor with a great all round team performance.

All the players look to be brimming with confidence with some notable performances from Ryan and Jake Parsons, Foulser, Fraser, Wazza and Hatchet but my MOTM was Rummy with a quite superb rampaging game in midfield.

It is getting tight at the top with both Barton and Royston losing.

Goal difference could play a part at the end and at present we have the second best with +33.

COYR!!

Thoroughly enjoyable afternoon, with a great team performance against a collection of individuals (wouldn't call that lot a team for much of the game). Huge credit to the managers and all of the players for that much effort. Difficult to pick a MotM as many deserved it, but I'll go for Rumbold for his all-round tenacity and ground-covering.

I recall one of the (few) Dunstable Town fans at the December game shouting Mind The Gap Slough quite a bit. Didn't see him there today (no surprise), but rest assured if we carry on as we are, the gap will look after itself.

Finally, Agent Anthony please return to base, I repeat return to base, mission over.

Made all the sweeter given the "conversation" with one of their very opinionated supporters about how they played us off the park at their ground after they were 3-0 up (he was quickly corrected given we scored first), how we didn't have a ground (yawn), how it couldn't always be the refs fault (again didn't have anything to say about the Lake card being overturned). Having read some of the bile spouted by their director of football on twitter, could well have been him. Certainly didn't like Slough that's for sure. One thing he did have right though was our opinion that we deserve to win just because of who we are. Think it's only a small number of supporters these days, but certainly not the case.

Very impressed with the lads performance today and their desire to keep going even when winning heavily and up against ten. That's playing someone off the park.

Clocking in at 10.48pm, pissed as a pudding ! Bear with me lads may take a while to write what I think of the game !

I thought our managers and our players were bloody brilliant today. Our tactics and play was superb.Every man in the team, and the subs included, played their part in an exhilarating and annihilating way[dictionary's busy! This report could take a long time to write! lol! ]

Well done Jon for having the good sense to swap Wheels for Wazza late on in the game to switch wings, when Wheels could have talked himself into a red card !

4-0 should have been more especially with Jamie McClurg's impression of Tottenham'sRoberto Soldado !

Kyle Anthony's sending off changed the game and maybe was a little harsh but I think we would still have beaten Dunstable, as the whole team was fired up from the off.

Man Of The Match is a very hard call for Slough,as every player played very well but I thought Ryan Parsons,Adam Foulser,Ed Smith and Scott Harris were exceptional.

I think Scott Harris deserves  the MOTM as he had his best game in a Slough shirt,.

What a brilliant day.as England rugby team turned over Ireland, too. Doesn't happen often that I get a win double !!!

Hic,hic ,hic !

Happy days are here again.............!  Zippee-de -do -dah.....zippee de day..........!

It was a clear sending off, happened 5 yards in front of us. They absolutely lost it, to take nothing away from our boys who were outstanding. Really proud of how we are going about our business right now - 1-11 we wanted it more than them today.

Maybe the best we have been this season, certainly best this calendar year.

I agree tis hard to choose a man of the match b ut subscribe to the Rummy lobby as he was first to almost everything.

Some of us were surprised Wheels didnt start but must have been the right call as we won so well

Right I've got to go to bed now....I used to dream of birds with big knockers but now I dream of Wazza beating two players and crossing a superb ball for Smithy to put the ball in the net !

I need therapy ! Sweet dreams everyone !  The Rebels are back ! !
