Slough v Dunstable

The cheque book comes out as the panic button is pressed at Dunstable ahead of our game with them on Saturday.

3 new signings (including Kyle Anthony) and a new forward to replace the suspended Lee Roach will be in place by Friday.

I'm confident we can still turn them over !

Bloody marvellous that the game has to coincide with the England v Ireland rugby match which kicks off at 4pm,though.

England will have to do without me till the second half ! ha ha ha !

Posted on the MYFC site:-

'Today, Dunstable announced the arrival of three players to bolster their squad - Newman Carney, defender, returns to Dunstable on loan from Conference National Braintree Town; Kyle Anthony, centre-back, joins from Egham Town and Alex Taylor has been signed from Biggleswade Town as an optional choice in goal.'

Also a forward to be signed by Friday.

Wouldn't be O'Toole would it?

Yes its that time of the season again  Kettering have also announced their intention of strengthening their squad for the play-off run-ins They have a number of 7 day notices in at present

So, Kettering still splashing the money when they are still heavily in debt to various people.

Should this be allowed?

Maybe tomorrow is the best time to play them. New players coming in could cause a few issues on the pitch if they don't gel right away.

Anyway, our guys are now back to playing with a smile and confidence.

If we play our own game, with some constraint at the back, they will have to worry about us

After the Aylesbury United performance, what team and subs would you supporters play against Dunstable on Saturday?

I would play

Somerville

Fraser Foulser Woozley R.Parsons

and a diamond midfield of

Ben Edwards[holding role]

McClurg Rumbold

and Warren Harris [in a totally free role]

Up front I'd start with

Dyer  Smith

Subs: Short, Wheeler,J.Parsons,S.Harris,Cornell

Dont think we can leave out Wheeler for a game like this......I know he can be in and out of games but his ability to do the unexpected could really matter tomorrow. So I agree with your team with that exception(Wheeler in for Edwards) and with Warren in the free role you mention it means we can vary the formation as the game progresses, if need be.

It would be nice to see Guy Hollis in the squad and to see him maybe get 30 minutes game time.

Already full of anticipation for tomorrow !

On his day,Darren Wheeler is one of the best players Slough have.He could easily play at a higher level.

Tomorrow, though, I would start the game with a harder to beat core of centre midfielders and have the lively Warren Harris in a free role and link between midfield and our two best strikers up front. He could go right wing, left wing or straight through the middle.

Second half I would look to unleash 'Wheels' and Jake.especially if Dunstable have us under the cosh.

I just think we should play a cagey game if we can, than how we played against ' The Ducks'.

To be honest,I expect Bakes And Unders to play the same side that started against Aylesbury United tomorrow.   Injuries permitting.

I just like seeing the teams/systems other supporters would choose,as well as thinking what I would do.A bit of fun to liven up the forum.

I was toying with the same change Mark, but I like a cliché so "wouldn't change a winning team". Means Scott and Ed would need to be on their A game as JD looked back to his best and Cornell is on form so to have them on the bench raring to go would be great.

Yeah, same team as last week but with Dyer in for Hatchet. Harsh on Scott who played well but think Smith/Dyer is the best partnership up front for us.

It's a close call between Hatchet and Johnny, after Hatchet's performance last week.

I don't mind which one starts the game tomorrow as long as Ed Smith is playing. To me Johnny Dyer has the edge over Scott in the way they play and the Dyer/Smith combination is our best partnership currently but Scott and Adam have both been battling to keep their place in the side and deserve the chances they get.

I'm just glad we have the options of 4 strikers, who all bring different assets to the game.Whoever starts I'm sure won't let us down,in one of the biggest clashes of this season.
