Sorry, delved slightly into my football grounds fetish there lol

Thank god im not the only one with that problem ;)

At a guess I would imagine a war memorial, I did pass it on my way back to the car but not close enough to read.

Thanks.

Makes for some good photos.

I started in the stand, then was going to behind the top end goal, but found you can't get through. So walked back round and settled on the dugout side.

I quite like the ground especially the raised stand.

Yes I bet its lovely ground to watch a football match on a sunny day.

Part of you thinks it would be better not to go up and have to change the ground to much as its very nice ground just how it is its a bit of a double edge sword (Ground wise) in a way.

Yes I saw them and was wondering.

Good luck with it all.

What's the cross about up on the hill behind the goal ?

Now for a history lesson. The cross is Catherines cross, because on that spot Catherine of Aragon was imprisoned in the tower of Henry V111 castle on that very spot. Where the stand is located, is where Henry performed jousting and Westminster pond is his Carp pond a source of food in those days. The history in Ampthill park is amazing and many people that visit the football club have no idea. Also i don't know if anyone remembers  a book in the early 8o's that had a treasure hunt with clues, where a golden hare was buried, the hare was found 20 feet from that monument.

Yellow seats will be going into the stand. A standing stand will be on the opposite side of the pitch and behind the goal at clubhouse end will also be rectified. Most of this will be done by 31st March 2014

Sounds great. Onwards and upwards.
