Maybe Hanwell ran out of steam because of thursdays nights efforts but what changed the game were the inspired Ampthill substitutions when Coulter and Holmes replaced Bunker and Lester.   

What the hell were Watson and Duffy thinking when they got involved after the Lyon tackle on Rhone in the last minute.

It was clear that Lyon was going to get a red card so why get involved?? Sheer stupity!

FA CARLSBERG VASE FIFTH ROUND PROPER

3-1* Ampthill Town v Hanwell Town

 

First of all well done Ampthill Town FC

 

I thought Ampthill were the better team for the first 25 mins then for the rest of the 90 mins I thought we looked the better team and I could not see Ampthill scoring but some of our players did tire for the last 20 mins of normal play(Think Thursdays game started to catch up with some of them) then Ampthill scored and it went to extra time which was very even I thought. We hit the post but Ampthill scored two very good goals. I thought both sets of players did great considering the windy weather.

 

I thought the Ampthill keeper did superb and their num 6 did very well.

 

It was my first ever visit to Ampthill Town FC and I loved the ground what a nice place to watch a game of football met some really nice Ampthill people yesterday. Its my sort of ground and the pitch was superb considering how much rain we have all had but I cant see Ampthill Town FC going up with that ground ? unless they get a lot of work done very quick or they have a ground share in place ? but as I said a lovely little ground with a nice old elevated stand.

 

Must just say that ALL the Hanwell Town FC players have done the club proud in this FA Vase run and they all helped make club history so well done to all.

We have things in motion for what is required if you saw the yellow seats on your left they will be fitted for new season.

Along with a turnstile and exterior toilets.

Perhaps you should have been there to watch a quality match between two well matched and committed clubs who are a credit to the league?

Where are the yellow seats being put JusticeForYou?

 

My only complaint about Ampthill Park(bare in mind I think it's the nicest ground in the league) is the area behind the clubhouse goal and the railings. The area behind the goal is a bit messy and would benefit hugely from an enclosed area/cage/tunnel which the players walk out from.

 

And then the railings; I can't even beging to imagine how amazing the ground would look if you had yellow and blue railings around the pitch, or even picket fencing like at Leighton town put painted in alternating blue and yellow.

At a guess I would imagine a war memorial, I did pass it on my way back to the car but not close enough to read.

I started in the stand, then was going to behind the top end goal, but found you can't get through. So walked back round and settled on the dugout side.

 

I quite like the ground especially the raised stand.
