Coffin Ender
The other reason the season can't be extended is because most player contracts will run out.
michael
i'm not suggesting its an ideal or great situation, but is it yet another case of everything being sensationalised and a crisis being made out of a problem ,to feed the gullable. for the vast majority of clubs-even allowing for more postponements on saturday-and possibly tuesday-it will remain at no more than two games a week-when the players would have been training anyway. where exactly is the problem ? cash flow for clubs-a different matter, but extending the season would only make that worse as delays income further-and as CE states-players contracts end last day of existing season playing wise-really at the moment (unless it snows throughout maRCH )i can't see any major problem (grays and just 2/3 others maybe excepted) where am i missing the point ? Coffin Ender
I remember it was quite common for clubs to have double header weekends (play on Saturday and Sunday) in the 80s and 90s. Was also a way of getting travelling costs down if you could arrange two long-distance away games back to back.
