10th/11th Feb Fixtures

Recommended Posts

So we have had 6 weeks of lost fixtures, and now the League have e.mailed all Clubs that they can arrange fixtures between themselves,if they are in agreement now!!!Why was an E.Mail not sent weeks ago stating this,Camberley,Windsor, could of finished their Home matches by now if they had been allowed. You want it all ways,ok for Croydon to visit Molesey on a Weekday, but not vice versa  Lucky with the Hartley game a nightmare trip in midweek.Seems as though you have the ear of the right people in the CCL,ALL THESE FIXTURE CHANGES BENEFITING,Molesey, has anyone else been so lucky?

Mr Eaton - the point I was making is that the league do allow clubs to move fixtures around if it can be done and they can provide the relevant match officials. Examples are the Friday evening games that are the choice of the two teams, with the CCL approval. Yes, I would rather go to Croydon on a Saturday, as they would to us - I made the reference to the fact that they were actually coming to us yet again because of the game being called off at half time recently, so accepted that it is the same for both clubs. The Hartley games suits all concerned as we both had a free Saturday, and those are the times we all want to play - us as the journey will be easier, them because the same probably applies to many of their people and also supporters - it is a fact that Saturday crowds are much better and thus more revenue from gate and bar & food products. The Ash game was also moved from a midweek from what I can recall, and we were both free that weekend so it all made perfect sense. Alton was scheduled to be our final fixture but, as we again both had a free weekend, we invited them to come early and they accepted. This avoided yet another blank Saturday. These two fixture amendments were not done because of the weather, purely because we all wanted some football on a Saturday and did some homework on who is available, and the rest is down to communication between the clubs and the CCL.

All clubs get the bulletin from the CCL on a weekly basis - plus a midweek one when applicable - and this has all the information required to find out exactly what is going on in respect of fixtures, officials, amendments, tables, goal scorers, discipline, transfers and so on. Clubs are allowed to be as flexible as they can within reason. Obviously you would not have access to this - as far as I am aware - but if you could see the work that Alan has had to do this week to make provision for so many either/or scenarios going forward you would hopefully change your opinion.

Whether you agree or not, the main point of my initial post was the reference to people at the CCL not having the brains to organise things is more than disrespectful, and an apology would be in order.

N.B It has been mentioned elsewhere about extending the season but I think this could be a problem as it is World Cup year and the FA need all the domestic matters sorted early from what I understand. It does seem daft that the CCL could have an effect on the World Cup in Rio, but we do form part of the National Pyramid so need to have our matters complete. As I said, this may be wrong, but I seem to recall there were similar issues in a previous World Cup year.
