10th/11th Feb Fixtures

Wouldn't think there will be any Footie till next sat 22 feb looking at the weather forecast. I will add whilst some are moaning about the lack of football please spare a thought for the families who have a lack of a home because of the weather especially the very young and the very old

Absolutely Weeble, especially our league sec who is asleep on a roller coaster I believe!

I think we should look at Saturday games as being off and re-schedule what we can for as soon as possible, with the clubs backing of course.

Guernsey 3 v 2 Burgess Hill Town.

Ross Allen hat trick, maybe CCL Clubs should get in the Contractors in who fixed their Pitch.

Difference is smudge ccl clubs dont have the money that Guernsey have. Im sure most of our clubs struggle to pay a groundsman to line the pitch out.

For what it's worth the weather hasn't been as bad in Guernsey as it has on the mainland.

I don't think there has been much rain at all in the past week although i live in Asia now so don't take that as gospel.

Kinda ironic how the fortunes have flipped.  Guernsey have played as many as 6 games more than their rivals in the Ryman South this season  :D

The cost of fixing the pitch wasn't met by the club as they do not own the Ground.

Whilst it may not have been as bad, I can confirm that we have had a LOT of rain in the past few weeks. All other pitches apart from Footes Lane have had lots of games called off. Corbet Field resembled a lake a week or so ago and only last week around 60 roads were closed due to flooding.

Chris,no one in the CCL has got the brains to organise such things,to short notice would be the Cry.Officials must be Hank Marvin, can see a few Clubs going under as well.Surrey F.A.will be feeling the pinch also,NO FINE money coming in. "quote Smudge"

The league have actually given clubs the opportunity to re-arrange games between themselves if the fixture list is hit again this weekend, which it clearly will be. This will have been conveyed by email to club secretaries, as opposed to a forum, and gives the potential to move Saturday games to Tuesday and even then to Thursday if the clubs can agree. This is nothing new either. We arranged fixtures at home to Alton and Ash this season as we had free weekends, and the arrangements were initially made by the clubs concerned and then actioned by the CCL. They've also squeezed in our fixture away to Hartley to a Saturday now, whereas it was originally a midweek trek for us, so there is a lot that goes on behind the scenes to try and make life easier for clubs. I just hope Alan can do that with the Croydon game that is likely to be off tomorrow, as midweek journeys to Croydon can be a nightmare - having said that they are coming to us again midweek, following the abandoned match a short while ago. Personally, I would not relish the job of trying to sort this problem out, so give him a break.

I don't think anyone is having a go at the league or any league individual H59. It is up to the clubs to change league rules regarding re-scheduling of matches to following midweek IF clubs are in agreement. What we are all going through will be a waste of time (again) if we don't make relevant changes in time for next season.

And you are right to say that clubs have been contacted regarding the current situation by the league in quickly re-arranging any games called off tomorrow for midweek. Next week's forecast isn't good either however. What is difficult for clubs is that in planning, say, two weeks ahead, players may have made arrangements for next midweek where no games had scheduled and any quick changes may leave clubs severely depleted. It is a difficult time for most clubs but I really feel for those under water with no chance of football in the immediate future.

Can clubs change the rules ?  Are the CCL rules not just something that is standard around the leagues and come from the FA.  VP this is your area ?

I am involved with a youth league and it is a nightmare trying to get games on and rearranged.  We even have some youth teams refusing to play on 3g !!!

This is exceptional weather.  I have never experienced it like this before and I am sure plenty of leagues will say the same.  What we need to do is learn lessons to help us going forward if this sort of weather is going to become more frequent.

Not increasing the league to 24 clubs would be a good start ;)

I believe that clubs have the ability to submit proposed league competition rule changes by a certain date to be voted on at the AGM.  I also believe that these proposed changes have to passed by the FA first before being voted on.

I suggest we just scrap the 2013-2014 season ; play friendlies where and when possible and start afresh in the spring.

Personally. I don't see the current situation improving in time to complete the full fixture table.

I have just returned from Farnham and I can honestly say that I've never seen such a situation in the south east in all my 67 years.

So we have had 6 weeks of lost fixtures, and now the League have e.mailed all Clubs that they can arrange fixtures between themselves,if they are in agreement now!!!Why was an E.Mail not sent weeks ago stating this,Camberley,Windsor, could of finished their Home matches by now if they had been allowed. You want it all ways,ok for Croydon to visit Molesey on a Weekday, but not vice versa.Lucky with the Hartley game a nightmare trip in midweek.Seems as though you have the ear of the right people in the CCL,ALL THESE FIXTURE CHANGES BENEFITING,Molesey, has anyone else been so lucky?
