Chase Side Towner
What are the chances of this being on? Will the ref call it off without leaving his house? Lewes are not happy with Saturday's official: http://theballissquare.co.uk/ Our game today away at Enfield Town was called off DESPITE the pitch being playable when the pitch inspection was carried out. The referee decided, without any consultation with Lewes, that conditions would get worse and it would be an issue for us to travel at 9.15am. Thanks for that. If he would have bothered to ask he would have found out we were willing to travel.
lovely stuff
There shouldn't be anymore rain now till after the game..But is the pitch already too saturated? Any idea of a pitch inspection time??
Chase Side Towner
Inspection at 3.30pm. Surely the pitch will pass. Blue skies outside at the moment..

1F in Enfield
Excellent result again! Well done! It's nice to be able to say that all the hard work put in by George and the team is having an impact. Equalising against Canvey seems to be the turning point. Let's keep going!!! Steph
Still a long way to go with 4 tough games coming up. However, for the first time in many months there appears to be an escape route. I am now starting to enjoy football again. George has made the side fitter and being fitter they are better able to demonstrate their undoubted ability. Chase Side Towner
You can't beat a Joe Stevens corner! Ref was on our side last night, but Bury are a niggly lot, always looking to leave the foot in. How their number 11 never got sent off for the tackle on Doyle at the end of the first half I'll never know. The plus side it's great to see every player together as a team, as witnessed by Ewang getting stuck in after the aforementioned tackle and ably backed up by the rest of the team. 4 tough away games coming up as Steph said. Barry's facebook comments: ETFC have at the moment the best fans, volunteers and players in the league. I know it's a bold claim but for me all season I have witnessed the fans continue to be a genuine 12th man come what may. I have seen many people give up their valuable time and graft in the rain to get our games on. Having said all that above all I am witnessing first hand a magnificent response from the players to everyones support and especially the influence of George Borg, Bradley Quinton and a rejuvenated old guard supported by some welcome new additions. Every player in the squad is now prepared to die for the cause and it shows. Credit to one and all especially the subs who of course all want to play but nonetheless are willing the club and their teammates on no matter what. GREAT attitude and great team spirit and in no small part in my opinion to the re-emergence of captain fantastic Mark Kirby and long may it continue!!! Myself, Bradley and all the players dedicate tonights victory to George who was unwell this evening and whilst his physical presence was missed by everyone especially the officials for those of you who watched us hopefully you will have seen that his spirit clearly never left us... We are not niave and realise that there is still much work to do but well done to everyone and whatever the season has in store for us we will continue to fight for every point and do the club and ourselves proud! COME ON YOU TOWNERS!!!
littlehampton
Agree with all the above comments. Great result for the Town last night and a much deserved reward to everyone who helped ensure the match went ahead. Barry's comments are absolutely spot on. Results-wise the Club have made a very promising start to the new year, with only one defeat in our last six matches. Last nights result gave us our first back-to-back wins and clean sheets in the league this season, and the way we are now playing, lifts everyone's spirits, and provides real cause for optimism that we will still be playing in the RPL next season. Well done to George, Barry, and all our players last night, also to all you Towners who lifted the team, you did the Club proud. Keep it up guys !!! OldTowner
Interesting report on the Bury web site. They must have seen a different game to me !! IMO they could have had at least one off in the first half. However, agree with the pen shout for them towards the end. Perhaps our bit of luck, which we have not had all season. Come on you Town. Ps. Some good words from Barry. And Get well soon George.
thecoldend
match highlights below - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OV4kMDKYkpk&feature=youtu.be shows the red card against Kirbs was right decision. horrible high and late challenge. Lucky Kirbs got off with no real injury. and the goal...was it a Steven's corner or a Bury number 4 own goal?
Chase Side Towner
Let's give the goal to Joe Stevens. He deserved it after clearing the ball off the line in the first half.
Father Jack
Fairly sure it was Joe's goal actually. Liam didn't get a touch (he admitted it in the bar!), and the only other touch was off the keeper Marcus Garnham's shin; I think the ball was on its way in anyway
