BFR
Hello All Taking things a little off topic, I'll be direct and to the point. In 6 weeks time I'm running my first half marathon and will be doing so to raise money for the Shine charity. They were one of the good causes the STFC end of season sponsored walk raised money for last season when a number of us walked to North Greenford Utd. It is a charity I've come to know very well, tapping into their knowledge of Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus, after my son Jacob was born last February with both conditions. Some of you with longer memories will remember me as the loud mouth behind the goal, one time member of the barmy army, trust board member or bloke who presented Hodgey with this award http://flic.kr/p/jTbvr8 Nowadays I'm a little bit smaller (10 stone lighter), less of a problem for visiting goalkeepers (love you Chuck Martini) and father of two boys. I'm running the half marathon at Dorney Lake on 22 March for this little guy http://www.flickr.com/photos/7736951@N04/12393613265/ If you can spare a pound or two to support me in my efforts, it would be greatly appreciated. BFR
As I don't have any other methods to communicate with him, I just want to say Kevin McGoldrick is an absolute legend. It wasn't in doubt before he contributed to my fundraising, but now he has he's been elevated to an even higher plateau. Kev, I'll get to a game before the season ends and will thank you in person. Ian
It's quite staggering the progress you've made, Graham. Having seen at first hand how you struggled on the famous Worthing walk to think you'd now be running a half marathon and doing 24 minute 5k runs for fun it's like watching two entirely different people! It goes to show what can be achieved with hard work and a total focus on your goal. Good luck on the half marathon, mate :-)
brighton_rebel
It's dead impressive. Graham has lost my whole body weight! And we shouldn't forget Marathon Mark Bailey either.

BFR
Just a quick update for those who sponsored me - training is going pretty well. Tonight I notched up my longest run to date of 15.5km or just over 9.5 miles in old change. Keep this up and I'll be ringing up Jon and Neil asking to sign forms. I could be an Andrew Deaner type forward - utterly useless with a football but can run all day!
BFR
Did my run yesterday, finishing in just over 2 hours. A little slower than I had hoped for but was just pleased to finish at all after running on a knee that flared up early on and could barely flex in the last few kilometres. Cheers to those who sponsored me. Very much appreciated.
brighton_rebel
Well done Graham, impressive stuff, especially with your buggered knee. Is there any Rebel fans not planning on doing a sponsored run this year?
