Midweek 4th/5th/6th February Matches

Recommended Posts

Went to watch this, if honest hoping for an Epsom Win. But result was in never doubt. Epsom are a shadow of the side that started the season. Spose it's that " nothing to play for syndrome " kicking in. Left at HT when it was 4-0. Bumped into Spelthorne manager as well, nice chap.

Agree tommo thought Epsom were decent at the start of the season, beating teams every game but the last two game we've played them they've been poor. Dunno whether it's anything to do with games being called off at home all the time because they have the same players they had at the beginning.

Epsom had to come from behind after trailing at the half for the third time in the last four games. With two key strikers missing, this was a performance full of character as we could easily have decided that we didn't fancy it in the second half, and certain Epsom teams in the past would certainly have done that.

We probably deserved the win based on our last twenty minutes, but Hartley pushed us back early in the second half after we had done most of the work in the first half and at 1-3 I'm not sure we'd have got back into it.

Credit to both sets of players though, the wind was dreadful throughout (on the pitch, before anyone asks!) and then the rain came in for the second half. However, both teams played some good stuff and five of the six goals were scored against the wind!

One more thing. That pitch at Chipstead is a beast. It actually looked like it needed watering before the game! We will definitely be on v Cove on Saturday.

Sorry to the South Park guys who saw us losing on twitter. I felt that way last week when I saw you were losing at Ash!

I wasn't at the game but from the highlights, Epsom's defending would be something I would be embarrassed to see on a Sunday morning. To be caught out by a long ball over the top that many times excluding the fact the midfielders had all day to pick a pass of their choosing is poor.

Lammas v Epsom Ath.

Tommo in answer to your question looking at TRS footage (decent by the way TRS) Epsom were very poor ! They didn't look at all interested, didn't shut down allowing Lammas so much time on the ball to pick their pass. Epsom square at the back, giving ball away... but you can only beat whats put in front of you.

Can someone tell me who Lammas Captain number 4 who missed the sitter ? ;)
