Leighton 1 v 1 Chalfont

Rugby    0   v 1   Becosfield ( against the run of play )

That's a novel way of describing our great result up at Rugby, does that apply to our fantastic recent form, and our current league standing above Slough, I was just wondering, UP THE PUB TEAM ! :D

C'MON YOU RAMS !

i think that because of our pedigree most opposition teams step up their games when they play us, but when they play beaconsfield they are not considered such a threat or a feather to be put in a cap, sometimes too their disdain, but the time will come when the other clubs will come wise to them and then we shall see how they do.

Sycob are indeed on a great run and beat an in form rugby, what did you think of the game then ram? Twitter definitely made it sound as if sycob snatched a win. Admittedly that was from rugbys twitter feed (for some reason sycob were not updating twitter despite this important game- I wonder why?)

A quick line on this one from me. Gary Meakin is someone that Bakes and I have a lot of time for and considering he took over in the week before the first game of the season and had to rebuild the team he has done a fantastic job at Beaconsfield. They may be our rivals, and someone who we desperately want to finish above this season (as if we do we will surely be in the play-offs) but it doesn't stop us from recognising and applauding the run they are on.

It may be fair to say a few things are going their way. I heard the reports from Rugby and it seems as though they have 'nicked' the points with a late deflected goal but without being there I can't really comment. We watched them beat Daventry 1-0 the week before and my honest opinion was on the balance of play a draw would have been a fair result but it was Sycob who managed to find the back of the net and then defended very well after that despite a lot of pressure towards the end. When you are on a run like this sometimes things do go your way but they have some very good players there and clearly a great team spirit so maybe they are earning that little bit of luck.

We will worry more about ourselves though and Bakes and I are very happy with the squad we have now and believe that the changes we made around Christmas time have strengthened the squad and that is now reflecting in our performances. We also have a great team spirit and I think that showed last week at Northwood. Have we left ourselves too much to do? Well we certainly have a belief we can reach the top 5 come the end of April but we will have to have an excellent end to the season if we are to manage it. We have confidence in our ability though and these coming weeks are vital as we need to build some momentum.

Hope to see a good turnout tonight for what should hopefully be a very good game.
