will this statement affect Maidstone in the weeks to come if they continue to challenge for the title?

The Football Conference at their EGM this morning received a proposal to a change of rule to allow Artificial Turf Pitches.

The vote by the member clubs in compliance with competition regulations saw the proposal defeated by 21 votes to 11 votes. All 32 votes being cast.

This means for 2014/15 season only natural grass turf surfaces will be permitted in all three divisions of the Skrill Conference.

How Andy.

Or hello as we say it.

They must have seen it coming.

The rules were there pre season so they were on a wing and a prey to think it would change.

Now they know they cannot be promoted it will be interesting to see if their results and support falter.

Only a matter of time before G3 will be allowed in my view.

Actually them winning the title could go against changing peoples view as it will raise the question of how much the pitch helped.

What a load of rubbish. In my opinion they have been wise - great stadium used by the whole community on a daily basis, never a game cancelled, great training facility, uniting a community - all meaning rising profits and a growing playing squad. They should be credited. If it's all helped them win the league then good on them, they should be credited not criticised through jealousy

I know it isn't right but all clubs will do what THEY need to protect their position, it's like turkey's voting for Christmas.
