'No' to plastic

It seems to me that a good artificial pitch would be a godsend in a winter like this with hundreds of matches postponed with waterlogged pitches.

So while all the bickering about the whys and wherefores and its "not proper football" goes on we all sit with no football at all seeing our clubs slowly going out of existence through lack of revenue.

Doesn't make any sense at all to me. If people have enough cash and forethought to invest in a quality pitch that can be used for all sorts of sporting events the whole year through then good luck to them.

When we played at Maidstone on Boxing Day I did go there expecting Maidstone to use the pitch to their advantage eg playing the ball on the ground. But I have to say I saw none of that just a typical Ryman League match up in the air, long balls, good and bad passing, so I do not know if a team has an advantage to others on an artificial pitch. I think the report on Dover web site makes a good read if its all true about 3G pitches. Being a very simple person I think the ruling is weak, either you allow artificial pitches, or quite simple you don't. If its the later then no one should play on it,and if it is up to the club, then so be it.  But what do I know?

Have seen quite a few tweets from footballers today who have played on it saying they had back pain the next day after playing on it.

Personally I don't know enough about it but it didn't really seem a big issue when we played there.

I think the 4G pitches are as close to grass as you can get but the 3G ones are still a bit different

It seems odd to me that champions league and world cup matches can be played on plastic, and yet the conference ban them. If Maidstone take them to court its difficult to see how they can lose.

.

why would maidastone want to make a legal challenge when they now have a boxing day fixture at HDP to look forward to ?

Heaven forbid-they could have been playing Dover

well maybe its now yes to plaSTIC.

i READ THAT THE FOOTBALL LEAGUE IS TO ALLOW 3g/4G FOR DIV 1 AND 2 CLUBS FROM 2015/16.

WOULD BE NO GREAT SURPRISE AFTER THAT IF THE CONFERENCE DECIDE TO VOTE AGAIN IN NEAR FUTURE (AGM TOMORROW) SO WILL PROBABLY CALL FOR A NEW VOTE IN NEAR FUtuRE and it will probably get the ok.

Did i read somewhere that Mr laslett is open minded on the issue-and possibly sitting on the fence/pitch to see which way this goes-but it looks to me as though 3G/4G will have complete sanction by end of this summer for 2015/16 aND I WONDER WHETHER Then Mr Laslett will seriously consider a 3G pitch at Margate (hope so)

-sorry for caps-hit the wrong button and can't be bothered to type it all again.

no-one reads this forum these days anyway !!
