Tel
If the rains keep coming can clubs (if they can get one) play on a neutral 3G pitch I did read that Virgina Water played at FELTHAM on a 3G setup
Lazy Sod
I wonder which CCL club will be the first to install an artificial pitch.

Green_Fingers
Alton Town - http://www.altontownfc.com/saveus.php Great news for Alton Town FC but doubt they'll still be a CCL Club by the time it's installed.
Smudge
G.F. there are many CCL Clubs at present who will not be CCL Clubs next year.Like the weather the situation gets worse by the week. Not sure if there will be 3 Teams promoted if they have the grading either. duncs
Going to watch my grandchildren in the morning they are playing on the 3g at Cove, its the pitch next to the Dinosaur pitch which no doubt will be unplayable. The kids focus are on the match not the weather. Duncs, How many games have you personally played on a 3G surface to have such a strong opinion of the benefits?

A couple maybe Smudge, but it may not be as bad as you predict. Whilst recognising there are potentially 6 Step 4 Clubs currently line for relegation to CCL, the League can run with 24 Clubs (not ideal but have done so in the past). If they do, then the number of Clubs moved laterally from Premier will equate to the number of Clubs promoted from Div 1. As VP states on the other forum, all ifs, buts & maybes at this stage. One thing's almost certain though - 3 teams will get relegated from the Premier and I can't see any teams being relegated from Div 1.
duncs
Duncs, How many games have you personally played on a 3G surface to have such a strong opinion of the benefits? Quite a few Ace1 but I haven't got a strong opinion I just have an opinion I don't care if clubs don't get 3g pitches we will always have football on whatever surface it is played on,my opinion means feck all but out of interest what is yours ? Duncs; Personally I am not a fan of 3G pitches. I believe it makes good players look good but average players look very average. Unless clubs can train on the surface (unlikely due to availability) then clubs should not be forced to play some games on grass and some on 3G. This gives clubs with the surface an advantage. There is still a lot of debate on the injuries sustained and it has been noted that there are a proportionally more lower limb injuries sustained using 3G pitches. Only my opinion and I can see both sides of the argument; especially having just spent 2 hours trying to clear water off the pitch at Farnham this afternoon!
