thecoldend
If you are looking to go by public transport the nearest station is Abbey Wood...which is 2 miles away. Trains aren't stopping here on Saturday. You have to go to Plumstead and get a coach for 10 mins to Abbey Wood then a choice of buses to near (ish) the ground. Easier route maybe to get DLR from Stratford down to Woolwich Arsenal (15 minute journey) and then bus to Thamesmead. Not sure which bus number yet. Will update when I find out. Bayliss Avenue must be the hardest ground in London to get too?

Bayliss Avenue must be the hardest ground in London to get too? The ground is a nightmare to navigate if using public transport - also to compound matters, there's no amount of line closures this weekend on the underground, and for those driving, the Woolwich Ferry only operate a one boat service at weekends which makes the Blackwall Tunnel the only viable route. No pubs that I know of within walking distance of the ground, but the clubhouse is modern and decent.
Coffin Ender
Simplest is go to North Greenwich tube then a get a 472 bus which takes you to Bayliss Avenue. No pubs in Thamesmead, I stopped off in Woolwich.
Steph
Princess Alice 2a Battery Rosd is a "cask marque" pub just pass the roundabout to Thamesmead estate. Also last year with my mother and Barrie found a decent pub and meal on right hand side of A 206 just past road to ground. Cant remember name small bar but decent meal.
