Graham C
Do we yet have any idea as to the likelihood of the game tomorrow actually happening in view of the continuing bad weather
Neil Baker
Not too sure in all honesty Graham, guess may depend on what rain we get tomorrow: In terms of the squad tomorrow it is as follows: Somerville, Fraser, R Parsons, Woozley, Foulser, W Harris, Wheeler, J Parsons, Rumbold, McClurg, Short, Edwards, Smith, S Harris, Cornell, Dyer. 3spirit
Neil, now that Jon Munday has gone back to Burnham, will you look to add another defender for cover or try to do without? Hope the game is on against Northwood, missed my football fix Saturday. Should be a cracking game if it's on.
Jon Underwood
Neil, now that Jon Munday has gone back to Burnham, will you look to add another defender for cover or try to do without? Hope the game is on against Northwood, missed my football fix Saturday. Should be a cracking game if it's on. For the time being we'll stick with what we have got. After the next game, hopefully tomorrow, we will have Guy back and that gives us 5 quality defenders plus Ben who can fill in anywhere across the back 4. On top of that we have 1 or 2 others in the squad who can do a job at the back if required. Of course if we were to pick up an injury we might have to review the situation. Stuntman Mark
Good win against a good side, it really was a team performance from the rebels tonight and everyone did their bit. We were clinical up front in the first half and dogged in defence in the second. Jake made 3-4 outstanding saves to keep us in it and it was one of our best midfield performances of the season, Rummy and Clurgy both put in great shifts. COYR! 3spirit
Excellent performance by the whole team tonight.A well deserved victory. Both goals were worth the entrance fee alone. What was hugely pleasing was that Slough played as a team to get the 3pts. First half we showed our quality.Second half we weren't quite clinical enough in front of goal to finish off Northwood but luckily Jake Somerville performed wonders in goal, again for us and defensively we rode our luck to keep out Northwood's attack. Thought the state of the pitch worked in our favour by slowing down the Northwood attackers. MOTM for me had to be Jake Somerville but all the players deserve credit for a fine win. Others that impressed particularly IMO were Sean Fraser,Dave Woozley and Leigh Rumbold but bit unfair singling anyone out,as they all put in a geat shift. Well done lads. Martin
Echo the above. First half we played some great football and wonderful bit of quality from Smithy for his goal and another quietly effective performance from Cornell who chipped in with the other. Northwood who I thought were a decent side really had a go second half and whilst we continued to threaten on the break we had to dig in for three points. Excellent stuff. Only negative is Warren having to go off injured. Found it hugely frustrating that a cynical nasty challenge injuring a player gets a yellow the same as a nothing shirt pull and kicking the ball away. All right within the laws but doesn't seem just. Anyway onto Saturday COYR
Don Juan DeMarcus
Good result. Felt we really rode our luck 2nd half and if it wasn't for jakes best performance in a slough shirt could easily have lost points today. Mr Rebel
the team battled together superbly and we seemed determined and adamant we would not let them score. so many superb desperate blocks in penalty area scrambles and an inspired performance from Jake in goal could have easily scored a few more 2nd half but key to the win was that we took our chances 1st half when they came along and have to agree the pitch ironically seemed to hamper the way Northwood wanted to play this performance is the sort of grit and determination that we need to find against the so called "lesser" teams as once again we showed we can beat any of the top contenders. if we can keep this sort of 100% battling performance going i don't see why we can't go into the Dunstable game in a few weeks off of a good run of wins
Graham C
Overall a good performance topped off by a masterly performance by Jake. At the end of the first half I was sure that Sean Fraser would be MOTM but those second half saves(two genuinely world class!) swayed me like others Two good goals in a determined front line.second half dipped a little and we seemed vulnerable through the middle but overall the dogged defending meant that over the 90 minutes we were good value for the win against a strong side. Onwards and upwards now.......things are still possible !
Irishadrian
Three points against one of the potential banana skins on our run in Don't agree things are still possible Things imo are still probable. Great to see the absolute determination not to concede throughout the defence topped off by a brilliant performance by Jake We know where we need to improve 3rd best attack 10th best defence tells it all and clearly that's been taken on board and that one thing we have no control over at all seems to be reappearing A little bit of luck.
