Hanwell v Ashford utd game to be switched?

Recommended Posts

No chance from what iv seen forecasted, how many attempts will ashford need to get the game played?

They wouldn't have got the game on in this time either. Could be they have to use a neutral venue, but everyone is in the same boat (literally haha) a ground with a 3G perhaps??

The poor Ashford United lads are tearing their hair out, their Club are blameless in all of this:

http://atfc.proboards.com/thread/4224/latest-information-on-fa-vase

SG24 - Well this is a post from one of the lads on Ashford United's Board and they are clearly not happy, you can't blame them can you:

Whilst i understand their willingness to keep the home tie, Hanwell are not being very realistic or helpful to either club.
I have more chance of winning the Euromillions tonight than the match being on tomorrow and so another day goes by. Typical of the FA to order a reply (should it be necessary) back at the ground where they could not play on three separate occasions. This match could have been played last saturday at the Homelands (parent club/rent payer club takes precedence BG), they would still get a third of the larger gate and without the hassle of organising the match details. They could have played tomorrow (sat 1st ) but instead have held on to the last and added to fixture pile ups for both clubs. If by some miracle it goes ahead tomorrow then it will interesting to see if the attendance is worth the stance as if held at the Homelands 450+ would have been my prediction.
Also if it does go ahead then questions should be asked of the pitch inspection of last week as joking aside it was quoted as unplayable after just one wet day whilst we have had rain every day this week including heavy storms and showers and yet they still hold out faint hope?

A home draw is very important in the Trophy, any club in the competition would want to maintain that advantage. The weather we have had has been exceptionally harsh over the past month, nothing Hanwell could do about that, and you can't blame them for wanting to keep the match at their ground. I'm sure Ashford would have been no different if the boot was on the other foot.

Wonder how many times it will be called off at Ashford.

If they are moaning about it being off at Hanwell just shows what a bunch of bell ends they are, as if it would have been on at their place in the meantime. I will enjoy it when I see Hanwell have swept them aside. Hanwell obviously Rhodes' new obsession. Never fails to impress with his levels of pathetic-ness.

My thoughts exactly. Boot on the other foot now. See how they cope with all the criticism.

Hope Hanwell batter them.

Here's another post from the Ashford United Board and a link discussing today's postponement, you have to make them spot on don't you:

Like other posters have said.... The game could and should of been played at homelands on Tuesday eve! Hanwell messed everyone about last week and after their pitch failed its inspection on tuesday, they refused to come to us that eve. That's what our fans are fed up with. The going back on decisions made by the FA.

Grow a pair then Rhodes. If ashford are blameless who is to blame? That's what you're suggesting someone is. Hanwell have every right to protect their home advantage and if it gets called off surely it is a referee that makes that decision. Poor Ashford tearing their hair out... Don't you thnk Hanwell need it played too?

Well surely it's unfair to Ampthill Town as they still don't know who they are playing on Saturday in the Fifth Round do they

Savagebee - That's a bit harsh isn't it, Reynolds Field was always 'a billiard table' where games were rarely called off, what has gone wrong.

what has gone wrong.

Probably something to do with this

December and January combined have been the wettest combined for more than 100 years, with rain falling on 23 out of 31 days in January across the UK.

Karen - you know he's always at least 9 months in the past!

:offtopic: On another forum recently he stated how well Gordon Boateng was doing at Enfield 1893, failing to realise that he'd left last May!

He is not one to let facts or reality interfere with his statements.
