Fixtures Saturday 25th January

Recommended Posts

Fair play #UTL you gotta believe in yourselves and you have got a decent squad.

With regards Epsom what can you say didn't perform on the day, massively under estimated Alton - but well done Alton! Just make sure you beat Camberley and South Park, please.

Camberley win again! How manys that now? And move above us into 3rd! That's how close it is at the top.

I have no doubt that Epsom will bounce back stronger starting on Saturday ...

Hello Baza, Rushmoor BC have also cancelled most pitches with further news to follow Friday!! Not just SHBC then!

What were they thinking!! Rain due Friday maybe!!

Oh dear Craig.  I simply posted a fact and I am sorry you took it so personally and felt the need to respond.  I don't blame them for cancelling them with all the stupid amount of rain we have around. And looking at the forecast up until Weds it could be another early call off.  Mind you if it is and when I find out I will be sure to check it is ok to post that fact.

Have to say Colliers Wood pitch is the worst I have seen in football since Dedhill Kiln Brow pitch in 1984/85 their first at Kiln Brow. No grass just sand.  A pitch you can not play football on and dangerous. No problem about the result we were poor but you can not play football on it and you are going to get lots of injury's.

Mad moment when the tree came down onto the pitch behind the goal we were standing next to it. I have never run so fast in all my life beat two of the Colliers Wood players of the pitch and I had to go over the barrier to start with!

Cheers Stan, we got a massivly decent squad. And that is why I'm larging it. Baker is proven hitman and Ryan is proven leader, redrup is most probs best pound for pound baller in this level of football #UTL

I have been following this discussion about CWU's pitch and I would be interested to learn about injuries sustained this season. For example, how many were because of challenges?

How many where no-one else was involved?

How many that could be attributed to the type of footwear being worn - especially blades

How many home and away players have had to miss games following injury at Wibbundune?

No one likes to see anyone get injured unless you are Roy Keane and the other party Alf Inge Haaland. From a purely impartial position I really do wonder just how much the footwear plays with regard to injuries sustained.

People seem to be forgetting that Colliers Wood have done well to get back to Wibbandune at all.

The last two seasons have ended with them having to leave their pitch before their fixtures had ended and I think teams need to cut them a bit of slack.

Totally agree great to have a game.

Be good to hear from someone from colliers wood about how much sand went on it before Saturday's game? As it been like that all season.

Both our lads that got ankle and knee injuries were not to do with a tackle. I think you would all agree that the lad who got stretched off was due to the way his feet seemed to get lodged in the ground. I know this can happen on any pitch any time but if you were there u could see the pitch conditions due to lits of sand didnt help.

Anyone thought that the pitch is more suited for their game with the speedy front men they have....long ball over the top ? ;)

I'd have thought the opposite. Ever tried sprinting in sand?

Football knowledge or lack of it Rother ?  Speedy forward against a slow defender or a quick defender that has to turn again in the sand against a straight run, I think I'd know who would win.......herewith finish the lesson ! ,,,Ever tried turning in sand ? ;)

I know of three people who have ruptured their Achilles tendon and two of them were from running on sand. In both instances the specialist said it was due to the unstable surface that sand clearly is.

Having seen the pitch the other week there was clearly too much sand at CWU. It will be an advantage to CWU as they'll play on it more, but that will also mean their players are more at risk of injury I guess.

Sand blunts speed.

Mud blunts speed.

Levels the playing field somewhat.

Ever seen a horse race in deep mud? The slow plodders who hardly have a sniff against the fast horses on good going suddenly come into their own.

Baker don't make laugh.I was told at the weekend he asked Westfield last week to be deregistered as he wanted a break from football for personal reasons, apparently he neva stepped foot into westfield, not trained once let alone played a match.nuff said!i think all the wannabe plastic gangsters will scare him at his new club
