ETFC2014
Any indications they'll romp division 1? Not with the squad that was on show yesterday. The 1st half was close, 2 mistakes from Edgware Centre Half and Keeper let Hoddesdon take a 2 1 lead. Second half both sides made numerous changes, Hoddesdon dominated from the start of the 2nd half. The Edgware Midfield was totally over run, looked like they were speaking a different language to each other which they were...with 3 Spanish, 2 French and a Algerian player in the line up... Hopefully the Crawley Green game will be a more realistic opportunity to assess them, from what I gather the lads that have already confirmed to sign eg: Quattromini brothers, Mark Guilda are all available to play so we will see. They definitely need a centre half and forward.

Rhodes
ETFC2014 - What a heaven made opportunity to meet the Club's heirarchy and get first hand news from the horses mouth, other SSML Club's should be following your example shouldn't they rather than playing their cards close to their chest. See you there.
Karen Browne
Lets get back to the topic folks and, wait for it, Edgware Town have recruited high profile Japanese Coach Koichi Sugiyama on a short term basis. Koichi has played over 200 games in the Japanese J-League and managed successfully at a high level in Japan as well as in Singapore where he has won a Coach of the Year award, he has taken time out from his flourishing career in Asia to learn more about the game in this Country and Edgware have somehow managed to get in first to secure his services: http://www.goal.com/en-sg/news/3880/singapore/2013/01/27/3574184/koichi-sugiyama-to-lead-new-look-albirex-niigata-s-squad-for From Twitter and Facebook today Kiochi has left the club, he has been offered a head coach role in Thailand. The club wishes him all the best for the future, and thanks him for all his hard work in the short time he was at the club.

Rhodes
Yes, that is a body blow but the Club must have learnt so much from Koichi Sugiyama in those two months and he was no doubt instrumental in laying the foundations for the eagerly awaited season ahead. OD's
Maybe should have started in Div 2 in hindsight going by the friendly results so far. Or is it a smoke screen ??
Whitley Bay
Why do you say that, the infrastructure is already firmly in place But the team is not - and their 'high profile' coach, who was no doubt used to attract players, has already gone............... Munchkin
I suppose tonight will give more of an indication playing Kensington Dragons who finished 2nd last year in a Step 7 league. So far they have played 2 very good sides, but if they have similar results against the 3 Step 7 teams could be a very long season. ETFC2014
I suppose tonight will give more of an indication playing Kensington Dragons who finished 2nd last year in a Step 7 league. So far they have played 2 very good sides, but if they have similar results against the 3 Step 7 teams could be a very long season. The team put in a very solid performance. They got there 2 hours before kick off, and worked on shape before the game, and it worked. The defemce and midfield looked assured. And with a few more english lads in the middle and back communication was a lot better. The 3 spanish lads were involved again, but they have so much technical ability, just need to toughen up a little. The centre half pairing of looked very good. Debut from Kevin Grzapka previously with Kentish Town, looked mobile and energetic. There was some 20 odd players there, with the players not starting having a training session over the back of the ground, and then making appearnaces in the second half. Striker from Hampton and Richmond by the name of Michael Uche, came on with 30 mins to go and scored to good goals, and could of had 4. Was always going to take time to settle, but the difference between saturday and last night was vast. Sterting line up was: Da Silva, Guilda, Doud, Burton, Bloor, Victor, Arron, Quattromini R. Grzapka, Owusi and Quattromin D. Stafford Rangers will obviously be a lot starner test, but if they perform like last night, maybe could restrict them to 4 or 5.... Rhodes
A brief report from today's Non League paper from yesterday's trip to Stafford Rangers: Stafford Rangers 5 Edgware Town 0 A hat trick from Daniel Cope helped Stafford to their second pre-season victory over recently reformed Edgware Town. Ryan Edmunds cross found Cope free in the box to slot home the opener on four minutes. It was 2-0 seven minutes later when Alex Curtis was brought down in the box and Cope beat Ruben Da Silva from the spot. Neil Kitching's side sealed victory with a third goal on 52 minutes after great link up work from Jack Edwards and Levi Reid released Cope to complete his treble. Louie Downes helped himself to a double to complete the scoring.
