Sorry folks, the FA are dragging their feet in making an announcement about Edgware Town's status for next season, thanks for your patience and keep watching this space.

Maybe ETFC know their fate and just haven't told you?

Well like I said, keep watching this space, all will be revealed soon

I gather an announcement is imminent folks, fingers crossed that common sense prevails and Edgware Town are allowed to resume at a decent level of football, ie Step 6 or, if the worst comes to the worst, Step 7 rather than have the embarrassment of being banished into park football and the Middlesex League Premier Division.

There may be further movements of clubs between Leagues within the Pyramid, and Mike Appleby, Leagues & Clubs Manager from the FA's Football Services Division said: "There are a few other issues yet to be determined and these will be clarified in the coming days".

.

Imminent? You mean later this week or next? And why should ETFC be allowed to 'jump' straight to Step Six? Why not Step Seven which could include SSMFL Div Two, Herts County or Middlesex County Leagues?

The Middlesex County League Premier Division is a Step 7 League, so isn't "park football". Whether or not any new club should be allowed to enter the NLS at anything other than the lowest level isn't my decision, but I think parachuting a new Edgware Town in at any level above Step 7 would be a bit of a kick in the proverbial for those clubs who have worked hard just to reach Step 7.

It is possible to go from park football to Step 3 - my own club did it and it took years of hard work. While we have just dropped back to Step 5, we have a sustainable club and we are where we are on merit. If a new club suddenly appeared one step below us out of nowhere, I wouldn't be pleased.

That's not to say I wish Edgware any ill - far from it. I enjoyed many visits to the White Lion Ground and also to Silver Jubilee Park when Kingsbury Town played there. I hope the new club does well, but it should start at the bottom and work its way up, whether that's from MCFL Premier or SSML Two.

Agree with all of that.

100% they should earn the right like every other team and I have no doubt they will over the seasons

Aren't a number of the pitches roped off though
