East Thurrock Today

Battling performance by Town..Still short of some quality and fitness.Needed to win that more than E.Thurrock.Saying that, a loss would have been the end I think..Unbeaten run goes on,but we couldn't get a win despite a big effort by the team. Will we be able to score enough against better opposition during the run in?? We could do worse than get Peddie (their N04) on board. Was impressed by their young sub (No15) as well.

They caused us trouble all afternoon down their left and the score could have been a lot different had they had their shooting boots on.

Their young 'keeper made two terrific saves in the first half and I was at a loss as to why we didn't test him even more.

Undefeated all year. Need to improve our performance as a whole.

It is now starting to become clear. I think that the team is stronger than earlier in the season but there is a mountain to climb. If their goal keeper hadn't made the double save early in the game I think we wouldhave won easily.

Two game unbeaten best form for months.

What about Noel's even earlier double save? If they'd got the early lead who knows what would have happened?

The positives:

1) Two consecutive league games unbeaten (first time we’ve done that since August).

2) Unbeaten in 2014.

3) Only 2 goals conceded in our last 3 games.

4) 15th in the form table over the last 4 games.

5) Bang on course for survival according to my points required prediction.

The negatives:

1) No time for that sort of thinking, I’m afraid.

From memory thats the best result we have had at East Thurrock of late, I can only remember heavy defeats, so that's an improvement from previous years.

East Thurrock won't get relegated on yesterdays evidence.

As for us our problem is bridging the gap between us and those above 4th from bottom, our aims are to haul Harrow, Wingate closer to the drop then we should have the momentum to survive.

Tough game at Hornchurch this Tuesday, i'd take a point now but looking forward to the home game v's Canvey next Saturday with optimism.

Wingate and Grays seem to be struggling at the moment. I don't think Harrow or East Thurrock will finish in the bottom four. Cray and Cardhslton I think are done for. All of the teams currently above the bottom eight will be safe. Having seen the team play twice since I have left I think you should get enough points to finish above Wingate ( who I saw the other day ) and Grays ( who I thought we were better than even when I was still at the club despite our results against them )and probably Thamesmesd who have made a few signings to strengthen their team. Time will tell
