FA vase fourth round

Recommended Posts

Hope they avoid each other in the next round.

I wouldn't bet on it, is the draw still regionalised or can they meet the likes of Spennymoor, Morpeth Town, Newcastle Benfield, West Auckland Town or Dunston UTS

The Draw is now Open

What will Ampthill Town do then if they're drawn away to either Spennymoor, Morpeth Town, Newcastle Benfield, West Auckland Town or Dunston UTS

What are you trying to say?  Just shit stirring or trying to make a genuine point about the logistics of a long away trip?

Neutral's exclusive report on yesterday's Vase win for Ampthill.

My second visit to Ampthill, and my first thoughts were regarding te impeccable state of the pitch. Given that almost all other local games were called off, te surface was fantastic- allowing for Ampthill's attractive, expansive style if football.

The first goal came early when a free kick from 45 plus yards was somehow lofted over the keeper, who was rumoured to have the winning ticket in the first goal raffle. The second goal came later on in the first half, with Draycott weaving and step-overing through 3 players before cooly slotting the ball across the goal to the keepers left.

Norwich left the the field having matched Ampthill in the first half going forward, but lacking severely in presence in the middle of the park.

At this point I entered the clubhouse- absolutely heaving. Despite feeling like a commuter in a rush hour tube, the burger and beer more than made up for it. Beer a bit expensive though- prices upped for this bumper crowd maybe?

The second half resumed with Ampthill again the better side, with some masterful link up play between Draycott, Watkins, and the tall black midfielder who bossed the middle of the park for 90 minutes (sorry, I don't know his name). Draycott completed his hat-trick by cutting down the left side into the box, before taking it to a seemingly impossible angle at the near post and slotting it below the keeper.

Norwich pulled one back when Ampthill conceded an unnecessary penalty when Garcia (I think) clumsily pulled down a greys striker.

Good day out.

Admission £5

We'll just let them have the tie, no point in travelling all the way up there. Listen Mr Rhodes if we can hammer Dunstable town twice 3-0 we will  surely have a chance to upset the northerners.

Tyrone Taylor is the tall black lad, a great player and a lovely guy  too. The penalty was conceded by one of our centre backs, Warren Garcia had already been substituted, i'm glad you enjoyed the day mate.

He's a wry good player, made a big difference yesterday I think.

Forgot to mention; thought the referee was excellent yesterday. Didn't blow for everything, was apprehensive to get his cards out and respected the occasion. Also stopped the ame getting too fiery when Norwhich got a bit upset.

No9 who is your Andy Carrol look a like? He should've bagged himself a goal to be honest.

Hoping for another home draw- I'll be there again!

For a football club! I'd expect that in a boozer, but prices are normally lower in football clubs! Dot mind paying though- good cause!

Isn't £3.00 pretty reasonable for a pint of Stella
