This is what happens with robot refereeing. When we get referees who have been around a bit this does not happen. The neutral areas is one of those unwritten rules which helps everyone.

I agree, it would be common sense to do so Pete, the ref was quite young if I remember correctly so perhaps he isnt as wise and experienced as yourself. As the saying goes you learn from your mistakes.
