Enfield Town v Cray Wanderers

What a relief, credit to George whose positivity shines throughout, he would fancy us against Real Madrid, but that attitude keeps the players believing in themselves, which is real football management skill in it's own.

Since Georges arrival the team definately looks better organised defensively and facts prove that as we have only conceded 9 goals in five games, which is still too many, but less of an average than the pre Borg period and includes a one off 2-4 defeat v's Wealdstone.

The game was tight and as Steph said Cray were very cagey. This could be because they'd signed almost their entire team in the New Year Period and may need longer to gel its effectiveness. Cray had some very good able players and I personally see them too battling well in future games for survival.

Therefore a very good win against a team who have strengthened are are potentially in a false position on yesterdays evidence.

As for us we have a fixture next week which historically returns us with nothing not even a goal in recent seasons. But it's another must win or the mountain we are seeking to climb get's significantly steeper. As a poster has stated, a win at East Thurrock will put us 3pts from safety with 10's of points to play for.

Bum's still sqeeking and feel it will be til April.

Cray didn't play any meaningful football until Town's lack of fitness showed in the last quarter of the game.Up until then I felt Town were fairly comfortable against very average opposition.Tyler made a difference when he came on second half.Cory worked hard second half..Still get the feeling we are vunerable to decent couner-attacking football.Bradley and Bertie seem good signings and George has started in getting us playing as a team with a settled side.A couple of other signings I'm not quite convinced about yet..I would personally try to bring in an experienced centre-back and move Kirby into midfield alongside Bradley (I know this didn't work too well at the start of the season, but I feel it can under George).

Way to go Townies . Beating the bottom club is quite a fabulous achievement . I'm sure the foundations are laid for a promotion push next season lol.

Don't forget E.T, have a game on Tuesday night (home to Wealdstone), as do Carshalton (home to Hendon). Let's hope they both drop more points before our game with E.T. on Saturday.
