Jeff Trice
Former Margate striker Phil Amato is hoping to arrange a reunion for former Margate players later this year. Phil, who scored over 100 goals for the club in the 1960’s, is hoping to meet up with some of his former Hartsdown Park team-mates and although nothing is confirmed as yet the intention is for the reunion to be take place locally, possibly in April. At this stage Phil is looking to gauge interest in such an event and said “It would be good see players, supporters, tea ladies, relatives of club officials… in fact anyone connected with the club in any way from the period from around 1960 to 1970 would be welcome.” Phil stressed that the dates mentioned were in no way exclusive and added “I don't want to deter anyone who would like to share the evening.” At this stage any former players, their relatives etc who are interested can e-mail Phil who’d be pleased to hear from anybody. missunderstood
I believe Tom Barnett still runs a pub and micro brewery in Sawbridgeworth, and should be easy to track down.
