Thanks for all your efforts,Steve. No wonder politics leaves most of us cold these days.

Tit for tat arguments between Conservatives and Labour, solves nothing, and who suffers, the community they're supposed to be representing !

There are a couple of points from Steve's statement that I am baffled by and find it difficult to comprehend.

In April 2012, when everything was practically done and dusted, Slough Council stalled and for whatever reason commenced further discussions with St Joseph's school.

Perhaps I'm coming from a far too simplistic and naive view but when all the plans were agreed and then the project stalled because, for no apparent reason, the Council started further discussions with St Joseph's, why didn't the Slough Council leader, who after all is a Slough Town FC Supporter, jump up and down to get the project moving again?

Slough Council claim they have provided the Government with everything they need to make a decision and now Central Government say they need further info.

What further info is required? surely the Council or the club should be informed as to what further information they require?

Every bit of spare space in this town will have to be earmarked to accommodate the growing legitimate population plus the the hoards of people who are coming here unofficially. I'm afraid a football ground, even if part of some wider and very worthy development has always, in my opinion, been a non-starter and I am really surprised that the Arbour Vale project has gone as far as it has. I do worry about what the consequences will be for the club when it is finally put to rest.

I thought the main part of the project was housing, so that would take care of some of the population. I would rather think upbeat thoughts rather than doom and gloom.

I believe the Arbour Vale project included something like sixty to seventy residential properties but I haven't checked and stand to be corrected on that. For sure if the football ground wasn't a part of it there would be room for quite a lot more housing but anyway it is no more than a piddling drop in the ocean. I really do admire the positivity shown by so many on this forum but I think a touch of realism is necessary. Can the club continue to survive and thrive indefinitely in a ground share situation?

I believe had we had a Labour government in power nationally, rather than the Conservative/Lib Dem Alliance, the Arbour Vale Project would have had a far better chance of actually going through.

I spoke to Fiona McTaggart on the issue and she seemed genuinely interested in helping to make it happen.

Our beloved football club have been incredibly unlucky with some of the councillors we've had to deal with over the years ie Geoff Cutting, and the name escapes me now but that old codger Councillor who was totally unhelpful? Anyone know what his name was?

I was hopeful we were making progress on that front but maybe we're not !

As for how long we can ground share,I think other clubs have done it for longer ie Wealdstone but it will obviously come down to how long Steve Easterbrook will want to stick around or if any other interested parties are willing to take over.

I still think we have a good following and a non-league club that are envied by many around us but contingency plans

will need to be put in place soon,if our dream of a new stadium, is just going to be a pipe dream.

Steve Easterbrook has been a Slough Supporter for most of his life so him sticking around hopefully should not be an issue.

The rugby club have a ground in slough why can't the football club have one next door

Upton Court Park was mentioned in the local paper.

I would presume this as a possible site has already been considered?

Steve may stay around as a fan but he may get tired of not getting anywhere with the ground and the obvious expense of running a club and who could blame him.I hope this won't be the case but circumstances change through life,so who knows.

As for a merger, this has to be a strong possibilty,if we get nowhere with a new stadium. Burnham is an obvious candidate for this, given their financial problems.

Most fans won't be happy me saying this and I wouldn't say I'm enamoured with the suggestion either but as Manor Park Rebel said we need to 'a touch of realism' in how the club is going to proceed,if the new stadium doesn't get built.
