What did we think of the latest New Year Honours List folks, I'm still shaking my head in disbelief as some of the awards are 'criminal':

Usual load of senior civil servants copping a retirement "gong" and arty farty people getting them for services to the arts. One SSML chairman has picked up an MBE though!

On balance I thought Beckham deserved something, even though it would have made his ridiculous wife even more unbearable. The award to the doctor that delivered the royal baby was obscene given that doctors and nurses working in the NHS are having their living standards, and pensions decimated, and are expected to work longer hours.,

Not sure what Beckham did to deserve a knighthood. His England record can't compare with Bobby Moore's. Moore played 108 times for England and started and finished every game, no 5 minute substitute cameo appearances to bolster the cap rate. Moore also captained England in 90 of those 108 caps. He also lifted the World Cup, lest we forget!

The way the FA and the Government treated him was a f**king disgrace.

New Year's Eve rant over!

Was never a fan of beckham in the early years but he is a fine man and father,ok easy to say when you have his lifestyle but only once has he been in the press for "bad" behaviour despite being the worlds number one pin up sportsman.

He gives time to youth and is an ambassador to the game and continues to be

I'm at a loss really, for once I agree with Rhodesly and when you see a doctor getting a gong for delivering a baby, something he probably left entirely in a team of midwives hands you can't help but be gobsmacked.

On the other hand though you do get the feeling that the system also works at times in recognising the odd unsung hero but the media are hardly going to highlight those commissions are they?

I thought that David Beckham deserved a Knighthood and although he has time on his side and will obviously get one eventually it has caused a rift between Sebastian Coe and the men in suits on the Honours Committee, Chaired by Sir Bob Kerslake. Seb rubber stamped the deserved gong for Beckham however the decision was un-ceremoniously overturned by Kerslake and his cronies:

Opened her legs for the right people........

I don't normally like denigrating women, but I have to admit your short succinct comment did make me snigger somewhat, Chinky-Boy.
