cup of tea
Deja-vu unfortunately. Got caught early with two soft goals again and didn't have enough time to recover. Unfortunate to give away the OG just after getting one back but these things happen. The same as Boxing Day really, if we had a little bit more time we would have pulled it back. The only difference is that Bury are a half decent side. Just a mention to George Purcell's work rate today, he worked his socks off. We just need to come out of the blocks a bit quicker, that's all that's lacking.
Wivenhoe Urchin
We are making mistakes at the back which are making it harder for us as we then need to chase the game, and it seemed like we were getting used to it given how much the game mirrored the last one. We need to communicate better in places as some of our play was comical today such as 2 players getting in the way of each other, and these things occurred quite often. An own goal almost seemed on the cards. We also have to keep our shape to ensure we are in the game when not playing so well. Towards the end of the second half our play was closer to our best. We have to find this quicker.
cup of tea
Just one other thing I'd like to mention. I am no expert by any stretch of the imagination but I don't think that our team is set up to play hoof ball. If we are going to do that, then maybe we need to find a way to accommodate Carl Rook into the side and get people to play off him. I think that we're more adept at passing the ball, which I admit is more difficult at home with the abuse to the pitch that a groundshare causes. Having said that, there's people far better qualified to make footballing decisions at the club than myself and I trust their judgement. Just an opinion
Eastside Urchin
Did I read right that all 3 of their goals were headers ?? Jimmy must be tearing his hair out when we conceded 3 headed goals, wouldn't of happened with him in the team
cup of tea
Third one was unfortunate. When we pass the ball around, we are tearing teams apart, Billericay had to resort to desperate tactics in the second half to hold onto the win and I thought it was only a matter of time before we got the equalizer yesterday. Just need to start strongly and cut out the mistakes, there's not much else wrong.
Brightside Bloke
if we had a little bit more time we would have pulled it back. The only difference is that Bury are a half decent side. Thats two games now that you use the same excuse. to be fair to the ref he gave you 4 mins 1st half against us and officially 6 mins 2nd half thats 100 in total, and you're calling for more time. Thankfully it don't work like that. After last season i think you guys are doing wonders and will loose the odd few games
cup of tea
We're starting slowly and teams like yourselves are taking advantage of it. You were well worth the lead Boxing day, you adjusted to the conditions better than us and you seemed to be first to the ball in the first half, particularly in midfield. If you saw the end of the game at Bury Mr Brightside you would know that we were in the ascendency at the end of the game, and that first half (again) we didn't seem to get hold of the game. I'll give Bury some credit there the same as yourselves. We're not the finished article, I'm surprised that we're doing so well to be honest as we haven't got the budget of other teams the likes of Maidstone for example. I think that's down to a great management team we have here. I'm sure that Billericay will rebuild in time.
colin mcbride
just want to say thank you to all the supporters who were able to get to bury ,with all the xmas spending to dig into your pockets again was a great effort .the last 2 games have been a wake up call to our players .if they think about there own performaces and the teams they will realise if they play high tempo passing football they are the best team in this league ,but to do that you have to match or beat other teams desire .to be honest in these 2 games mistakes have resulted in goals, then playing catch up and i think we deserved something from both games.a big month all the players need to respond in the manner i know they can ,if they are looking for a role model in the committment and desire department just look at your gaffer
