Your team versus Kettering

I thought Darren Wheeler was back to his best today with some quality play and crosses and give credit to Tony Mendy when he came on his ran his nadgers off for the team.

Darren Wheeler had another exceptionally good game except for his crossing in the 2nd half at corners which was poor.

Tony did ok considering the little time he was on the field but our strikers are struggling to be a threat in the goal area.Thought Kettering's defence shored up the goal area too easy in the 2nd half. We never troubled their centre back pairing.

a much better committed performance today from a very depleted squad was close to the sending off incident but thought that it was a 50/50 incident in my opinion, some players of the kettering side did seem to fall over quite easily while squeeling like spoilt school boys, all in all a thoroughly satisfactory performance, more of that commitment and verve will soon see us back to where we belong, my mom was jake somerville  really kept us in it today.

Big credit to the Kettering supporters but what I don't agree with is a team that were on the verge of going out of business and still owing thousends of pounds and are still splashing the cash to get success.

I think it has upset a lot of "football" fans this scenario and it was compounded by one of their fans taking to the non league paper and telling those that gave money and have questioned their expenditure to mind their own business and thanks for your money now piss off approach.

I do think it is odd that after raising £70k to just survive that the club are now seriously splashing the cash on players like the chap from St Ives, Tommy Hull and Jonathon Thorpe. Personally I would like the FA to investigate Kettering's behaviour to at least put this subject to bed finally. But we all know what the FA are like!

I don't think there's much to worry about - it's football, that's all.

Windsor were beaten by a better team yesterday, end of. Nobody is beating themselves up about it, nobody is looking for excuses, it just is what it is. An enjoyable afternoon's entertainment where we came away disappointed with the result.

We'd love to walk away with the league but maybe going bust gives a new and more healthy perspective on things, titles and chasing a dream, big ideas and big Bollox aren't really worth a barrel of crap really.

Just enjoy the sport, the banter and the fresh air and don't get caught up past glories, expectations and where you think you belong.

Through my apparent Rose Tinted Glasses (!!!!) I thought we had a much better game. All the players gave it their all which is all we can ask from them.

We got caught on the break for the first goal and should have had a foul seconds before the Red card incident.

If the players play like that we will soon be getting back to winning ways.

Couldn't agree more. We have had bad luck off the pitch and yesterday we had it in the pitch. Dyer should have scored and one of the disallowed goals was apparently onside

Rother,I agree with what you say here,in terms of perspective and realistic ambition but I think your notion about Slough being big-time Charlies this season is way off the mark.

We have got our house in order with our new managers and the squad and are trying to work within a tighter budget and with financial restraint,so I think you're being slightly unfair with your barbed comments. All fans want their team to be as good as they can be.

Slough and Windsor FC's have different perspectives on what is a successful season.

To me,promotion is realistic for both Slough and Windsor regardless of the money.

On the Kettering game,Slough more than matched them in the first half. We did remarkably well considering our injury list and there were Slough players playing carrying knocks but in the end we tired and just couldn't hold them.

When our players are all fit, there is not a team in the Central Division that Slough need to fear.

3spirit, I am not making comment on ANYTHING to do with the club it's players or management, indeed I have always wished you guys well on here - I'm just having a very gentle poke at the attitude of SOME of the supporters who, from comments made on here, it is clear absolutely do believe you are bigger and better than your current position demonstrates even though you've been there for quite a little while now.

It ain't a crime but it's a little pokeworthy. And pretty much the mildest local rivalry banter in the history of local rivalry banter*. That's all.

* Ah but of course, you don't consider us actually "rivals". We don't really feature on your radar! (Just thought I'd beat reading rebel to it.) ;)

Fair enough,Rother.

Windsor will always be local rivals but until Windsor are promoted and if Slough stay in this division, the rivalry is more of a 'misty watered coloured memory of the way we were' ! !

We're in different zones currently and I think Burnham have taken on the mantle of our rivals, from Windsor and Wycombe of yester-year.

actually rother windsors present football club does not have a lot of history, it is a young club with not a lot of expectations just glad with what it gets, which on its own is praiseworthybut we at slough are very proud of our club and when the team does not perform to what some would think an acceptable standard their dissapointment manifests itself in some poorly thought out comments, now you may feel that as an outsider that you can "poke" fun at these comments, and you may feel that you can read between the lines of how we the supporters rate our club and comment as such but i can inform you that you are wide of the mark, there may seem that there are a lot of comments on this site but compared to the general match attendance there are few, a bit like the attendance at a windsor match except that the windsor web site comments match their attendance few. have you had enough or do you want some more?

Don't consider a side we've never played in a competitive match rivals. These days our rivals are the likes of Uxbridge and AFC Hayes, bogey teams, we play regularly and who we need to find away of beating if we are to ever get out of this division.
