MTHead
Surprised no one has posted views so far, but thought that the Towners showed spirit and intent today. It was always improbable that with the transition we are going through, that we would be able to take points from this game. However it is clear that there are significant improvements and I am starting to think that GB is putting a team together which will get us out of the mess we are in. The real test will be against Hendon next week, as they are the sort if team we must start taking points from if we are to survive. I am encouraged to see the standard of new signings, there are also signs that the team are playing to a system and have some purpose. Keep it up guys, the support behind the goal today was excellent and they only need something to shout about to make more noise. I was sorry to hear about the unseemly spat between GB and SN and the idiot behind the goal should be ashamed of himself apart from that I had a good day .. Thanks, and more if the same please. Steph
Good post. Point to ponder. Three of Wealdstone's goals came from simple errors. Our goals came from hard work. Eliminate the errors snd we would have won 2-1. No errors against Margate please! !!!
CD Towner
Agree completely Steph, silly errors costing us goals as opposed to our goals which were through good build up play and application. A great atmosphere yesterday and credit to both fans. Steve Newing showed yesterday what a classless idiot he is.
The Crowing Cockerel
Steve Newing showed yesterday what a classless idiot he is.Agreed.Newing's bleatings of "but he started it" on twitter show him to be completely bereft of class and intelligence. Any former manager with the best interests of the club at heart would have kept a respectful distance after his sacking. Instead he's shown up at every opportunity and has twice now been involved in public spats with the new management. I'm delighted to hear that he has said he won't be paying any more visits while Borg is in charge.
andyetfc
Shame those in higher places didn't stop it after the first rant/spat. Wasn't at the game yesterday but I bet most people know who the person was behind the goal who should be ashamed of himself.
Steve Newing
So coming to watch a game between my old club and another for whom one of my best mate plays for is not something I should do. Whilst standing with Scott's dad ( a mate for 20 years ) minding my own business as Mr Borg has a verbal exchange with him over him trying to get Scott booked , Mr Borg then fires a volley of abuse at me and accuses me of supporting the opposition. When Scott scored his first goal yesterday he pointed at me and his dad as a show of support for me ( his mate ) , what's wrong with that , mates support each other. Did any of you see me punching the air when he scored or at any time when any team scored . No of course not I came to enjoy a game of football. I was enjoying the day until your new manager started hurling comments my way , he can try but he will not belittle me, so I stood my ground and defended myself . Listening to others it seems he has a history of arguing and falling out with people. Yet I am the classless idiot strange that isn't it. Anyway whatever you think , any of you to be fair , I am very proud of my achievements during my time at your club. One last thing , if you see me at the Hendon match on New Years Day , don't be too surprised it's just that another couple of my mates Gary McCann and Junior Lewis oh and of course Adam Wallace are there. I suppose I am not allowed to go and watch them am I . Just need the usual responses now from my two best mates The Viewer and Supporter

So since I have left you have played , Dulwich , Harlow , Ashford Town Middx , Carshalton , Kingstonian and Wealdstone all at home. I have been to two of the six matches ( every opportunity you say ) . Indeed I left it for over a month and the Kingstonian game passed with no problems , indeed so would have the game yesterday if a certain individual hadn't decided to focus on me rather than the game. Oh and before you go there remember who started the criticism publicly in the press.

Absolutely amazed that nothing appears to have been done, by anyone at the Club, to put an end to the disgraceful abuse and lack of respect being shown towards a former manager who, let's not forget, got us promoted to the Ryman Premier Division. He is part of our history, and I fail to see why he needs to go public to explain why he attends any particular match. I am sure most fair-minded Towners, even those with short memories, still remember his achievements, and will welcome Steve back to the Club in the future, despite his explained differences with George. The Crowing Cockerel
Oh and before you go there remember who started the criticism publicly in the press.Steve, the intelligent and dignified thing to do would've been to ignore the article. You did not need to publish a rather het-up reply. Your silence would've earned you far more respect from those who knew better. Instead you decided to slag-off the new manager in front of the fans on a public forum. And why, oh why, would Scott Mcgleish need to 'show you support'? You're not Malky Mackay. You were not sacked unfairly, and you certainly are not in need of support right now. You were relieved of your position quite fairly. In essence you (and Scott) were simply trying to incite trouble and division - and at a time when ETFC needs to pull together. I'm disappointed. Steve Newing
Ok I am gonna give every one a chance to move on. If you haven't worked out by now I will vigorously defend myself where I feel it is warranted and so far I feel it has been. There are a handful of people who come on here purely to have a pop at me , I can't stop that. I think fans and supporters should concentrate on getting behind the team not looking to have a pop at me. Myself and Mr Borg will never see eye to eye too much has gone on recently and before behind the scenes , yesterday just brought it all to a head. He isn't bothered about me and I ain't bothered about him. For what it's worth as I said to a couple of the supporters I spoke to after the game yesterday, I think if the team play like that consistently the club will still be in the Ryman Premier next season. There you go chaps it is over to you , I have had enough of bring your pantomime villain haha

Eastside Urchin
Can't believe you are mugging a bloke off who got you out of the Ryman north after a few years of trying and kept you up last season.Yes he may of not had a great time this season but I don't remember non league fans being so venomous about a former manager in such a way. I know it's not my team but I would be disgusted if any of my fellow fans talked about a manager of a similar record at ours in such a way.Would also be disgusted if that manager felt he couldn't come back to the club to watch the team he put so much effort into. I don't think a manager coming in should publicly criticise an old manager either and I have always been a big fan of George's
OldTowner
Said this before, so, I will say it again.... Can we all just call it a day and move on. Apart from one, or maybe two, no one knows who said what to who. This forum should now be used to promote the good things happening at the Club and everyone pulling in one direction, ie, keeping OUR Club in the Ryman Prem. So, concentrate on supporting ETFC. CST suggest you read my comments again. There was no mention of censuring SN or anyone else. I have respect for both George and Steve, and that is why I think this public tiff should be nipped in the bud as quickly as possible. It is embarrassing for the Club and serves no purpose whatsoever.

Most people are now bored with this topic, and have moved on. Suggest you do the same. No you haven't. This has nothing to do with the club as you have pointed out, yet I've asked how you propose the club can interfere in a public forum to stop people having their say? Or is it because you don't like people disagreeing? If so then please don't read public forums, and certainly don't try and stop people from airing their views.
