Squad v Beaconsfield SYCOB

It does make me angry when people say the other team wanted it more, does anyone really think that a player goes out on the pitch not wanting to win!! Come on that is ridiculous.

Lump it or like it we do have injuries and that has played a major part in the last couple of games.

I also believe some of the decisions didnt help yesterday and before anyone jumps I'm not saying that is why we lost the game. Their second goal came from a free kick which I dont believe should of been given, Number three should of been off the pitch early in the game and as for the number of our players they took out dont get me started, and that is without the foul on Wheeler in the opening 10 mins (yes Mark a foul).

I believe we have Warren missing for a couple of weeks now which really wont help (and I dont mean BR !!!!!)but as I said this is not the reason we lost just doesnt help.

And as for fans running out of patience, I just hope Neil, Jon and the team dont run out of patience with a lot of our supporters attitude. Calling for a player to be taken off is an NO NO in my eyes and totally unacceptable.

YES rant over now, I'm a woman I'm allowed.

Upwards and onwards for Saturday.

Agree Sue, calling for a player to be taken off is unacceptable.

In supporters defence it was in frustration at what they were witnessing.

The very least supporters are entitled to expect is effort and commitment and TBH I don't think they were seeing that yesterday.

Sue sorry to burst your bubble but the statement you made about players going out not wanting to win is rubbish .True the majority of players do want to win but as soon as you start paying players at this level you get a certain amount of journeymen players who are just turning up for their money and have no real close affection for the club they are playing for.How many of the current squad live anywhere near slough?

Whilst I do agree with your point around journeymen I believe that this group of players is the closest we have had to living in Slough in quite some time. Remember Neil and Jon saying it at the forum

Your possibly right in the respect of Journeymen players etc but IMO Sue is right in the case of our players.

Not sure but I think a lot of our players live around the Bracknell area which is relatively close to Slough.

No one goes out to lose. What I don't get is in a relatively weK league (IMHO) last season godalming team should be doing better than we currently are especially with the few slough additions to it.

I didn't go so I can't comment on the game, but our recent run is worrying and it won't be long before we are atruggling for the play offs.

Turning up for money? I was under the illusion that was our players last year not this year.... I speak to these lads and most are so frustrated that it not going in their favor at the moment and are certainly not 'journeymen'

Completely agree, I know that the players really care and are really frustrated that they are not managing to get the results at the moment.

This season we have a good team bond across all the players, and not the situation of last season where we had 11 individuals playing (after losing to Mansfield).

We need to show that we support them, so how about getting under cover before they come out and getting some chanting going as they walk out, to get them feeling positive before the kick off

I can tell you now the players were totally gutted yesterday and for the supporters getting behind the team well where were you only when we got a corner I heard come on you rebels for Christ sake get behind the team a show them why we are the best in the league and stop moaning

Rightly so the players should be gutted.

As for the support, are we really the best support? We've always had moany gits in attendance

for the entire time I've watched Slough over the years.

I prefer to encourage at games or to laugh and squirm with embarrassment when players cock-up

but some people just seem to go to football to moan at the officials or to single out their

least favourite player and give them stick.

Currently, the Slough team has lost it's way a little bit.As well as injuries and suspensions

playing a big part in this matter,it has also coincided with the winter, heavy, muddy pitches,

so our up tempo wing orientated play is not as effective.I think we need to adapt slightly

and try and grind out some wins, even if this means altering our style of play.

The fans can do their bit by encouraging the team but ultimately it's down to the players and

the managers to sort out what's going wrong and to try and rectify the situation.

I believe this group of players are a credit to Slough,in terms of comraderie, togetherness

and discipline.

We haven't become a bad side overnight.Every team has it's up and downs.

Players and fans alike, let's roll our sleeves up and bounce back against Kettering.

I think they are a credit as well Stuart, totally agree (dont faint)

One thing I do know is they are playing for Slough because they want to and not because they are being paid to.

Cornish you wont burst my bubble love, the only bubbles I will be bursting is the champagne I will be drinking tonight, trust me.

Win or lose they are our team and we need to support them no matter what.

Agreed Hammer Rebel, but it's only a few that are moaning. Ultimately it's down to the CHARACTER of the players and management to get them out of this mini rut.

I think the lads need to know we are behind them aswell! I always think teams play better with support and also let's not forget burnham had ryan bird!

]Have read all the posts and find some agreement with most in terms of those players who are missing and the effect that has. Also agree that we should not accuse players of not wanting it enough,

Like RR I hate being negative(a month ago I was saying I still thought we can win the league !)but yesterday was a performance from which it was hard to take any positives. As against Hayes we were out-muscled, and even if some of this out-muscling went beyond what is acceptable , we should be coping better than we are- we have better players than the teams who are beating us as we show in a few short bursts and yet we get dragged down to the level of these other teams. Yesterday the passing was poor, the first touch was poor, the defence at sixes and sevens, the midfield often missing and the strike force ineffective.

yet as I just said we know we have players better than many in our league and a management team who clearly have respect of the players and have created a happy dressing room.

So it can only be belief that is missing so Jon and Neil's task must be to restore this belief and the confidence that goes with it and to instill in them the attitude that we will win each game because we are better.

The return of key players will help but all teams get injuries and suspensions and this gets more likely as the season progresses--- the managers always believed we had a squad to cope with this sort of situation as some of the squad are quite versatile and flexible.

The fans care passionately..........we are desperate to get out of this league : let everyone(players , management and fans) believe we can do it and the we just might !

So, you have better players than the 7 (or is it 8 now?) teams that have beaten you? Righto.

You say the passing was poor, the 1st touch poor, the defence all over the place, the midfield non-existent and the strikers ineffective... Yet still believe Slough are a better team than SYCOB who have one done the double over you???

Jeez man, wake up and smell the bleed in' coffee.
