Beckenham Town

Totally agree G.F.,you only have to look at the bottom of the Calor One Central to find 3 ex CCL Sides, and the Calor South West to find 2 more ex CCL sides in Relegation trouble.Add to that 3 certain promotions from Div 1,which makes 8 Sides possibly looking for a place in the CCL Premier, to realise that Beckenham (KENT)have more chance of joining the CCL than Mo Farah getting into the top 3 of SPOTY.

If they resign from their current League, the FA will allow them (see rule 6.4 below) to apply to join another League at the level below - could be that CCL will need extra teams at Step 6 so maybe Beckenham could come accross to make up the numbers  ;)

6.4 If a Club (whether a Members’ Club or a Company) ceases to be a member of its league and that Club (that is not a New Club as defined at 6.3 above) wishes to be placed within the NLS for the immediately following Playing Season, then unless otherwise determined by the LC, it may be allowed to make an application to join a League/division below the most recent League/division of which the Club was a member.

In order for consideration to be given to the placement in the NLS by the Club in the

immediately following Playing Season, an initial application must be received by the LC in accordance with the procedures set out at 6.3 above. The application shall be copied to the League of which membership is being requested. The application will be determined by the LC at its absolute discretion.

In considering any application, the LC will set out at its discretion the requirements to be met by the Club in determining whether to approve the application.

I would welcome Beckingham/new teams such as Alton in the CCL to freshen up the league and visit new grounds, but as already stated, there will be lots of competition as to who will go into the CCL Prem next season.  The FA  will have a say in this and move some teams to other leagues like Alton for example last season, notwithstanding the potential of ex CCL clubs fearing relegation, ready and poised to rejoin the CCL Prem.

Could well be a few surprise teams next season, especially if top 3 Div. 1 clubs have the ground grading.... it will be an interesting July !
