Enfield Town v Kingstonian

What a fascinating ding-donger of a match is in prospect at the QE2 Stadium this weekend, when 'Town' entertain old friends Kingstonian FC in a crucially important fixture for both clubs. Kingstonian currently lie third in the RPL, with the third best goal difference record in the league, whilst 'Town' languish third from bottom, with the third worst goal difference. Both clubs need maximum points, and neither club can afford to lose.

Can 'Town' push on and make home advantage tell, under the watchful eye and influence of George Borg? Fingers crossed......what do you think, how do you see the outcome??

To spice things up and, hopefully, tighten our defence today, it has been announced on the ETFC website that we have signed Newman Carney and Sam Griffiths on dual registration, from Conference high fliers Braintree Town FC. Sure all Towners will give them a big welcome at the QE2 today as we battle to climb up the RPL table. Good luck guys!

FT  Final Score    Enfield Town 0-1 Kingstonian

The equaliser did not materialise and we missed out in this very close encounter. Not the result we were hoping for from a difficult match against promotion challengers Kingstonian.
George has only been in a short time, but you sense that things are improving and better days are ahead. Successful sides are built on a strong defence and, whilst we lost by the odd goal today, against a good side, there is now real hope that we will start picking up points again, sooner than later, and moving up the table.

Only 10 days into the George Borg era and already we look a completely different side. Massive improvement today and so unlucky not to come away with at least a point. Kingstonian will be going home tonight counting their blessings. If we continue to  play like today points will follow very soon. As is often the case the referee didn't seem to have a clue. He should certainly not be allowed to referee at this level.

Although we were on the back foot for the majority of the match against a well-organised Kingstonian, I thought we had the best chances in the game - Kirbs headed wide, unmarked from 6yds and Jermaine 'passed back' to the Ks keeper when put clean through.

10 days under Borg and we're already looking a much better side. Brad Quinton was awesome over the dead ball. The two new full-backs from Braintree looked pretty solid on their first outings and will no doubt feel the benefit of playing first team football.

Unfortunately there are no points for a narrow defeat, but I'm already delighted at the management change. If George gets his wish in drafting in another 4 players and improving fitness, then we will soon begin to pick up points.

Agree totally with you TCC, nobody must make an error in judgement we still need 3-4 more players in our starting X1 to be regarded a solid mid table side, the 3 new players have stemmed the 3-4-6 goal's conceded habit and the miserable body language's of our team has also gone away, the only thing missing is a 3pt victory and ASAP at that.

7pts behind ETU and now 9pts behind Met Police (next saturdays opponents) 11pts behind Hampton (Tuesdays opponents)

it's great seeing Georges DNA on our team and the effort put in by them but it'll count for nothing unless we can turn it into points.

Target for this weeks 2 games is minimum 2pts a little luck 4pts but 6pts and we are in business before the new year comes.

Looking forward to a trip to Hampton
