Just a quick note to say thank you to the doctor, ambulance staff, tea-bar staff, officials and anyone else I have forgotten for helping my friend when he got smashed in the face by the ball yesterday just before kick-off.

Thanks to some more kindness from one of own people we got driven home in the terrible fog and am pleased to say got home safe and sound. My friend is still a bit sore this morning but without everyone's prompt actions the situation could have been a lot worse.

Just goes to show that however well (or otherwise) our teams are doing, the non-league spirit is still alive and well.

Cheers

John

Hello everyone... Unwilling victim here...

Can I thank veryone at your club that looked after me. Your doctor was spot on. And so were the ambulance team and everyone else that helped me. Can't really remember a lot about the event and some of the evening is just a murk.

I took your doctors advise and saw my GP, who sent me straight to Basildon Hospital to be assesed and have a scan. More as a precaution as I take some meds following a heart attack two years ago. Scan showed nothing untoward but I am concussed and have whip lash. The up shot of this is that I have two weeks signed off from work because of my job involves working on a PC for most of the time (hooray to paperless office). This is really as a precaution. My wife is not surprised, even though I am.

I have always enjoyed my visits to Margate, mainly because of the people have been so friendly before and this sentiment was paid in dividends last night. I shall be forwarding a e mail of thanks to your chairman in due course...

As I am programme manager for Billericay, I wonder if I could use your match report for my programme. My friend who gave the original thanks usually writes one and we always like to lead into our programme with a win (sorry guys...no rubbing of salt meant).

The friendliness and hellp that was witnessed last night also supports an article I wrote in our last programme which contrasts Non league v League (following our visit to Colchester United) and supports Danny's sentiment that Non League is where it is at for the true supporter...

I am tired...so I shall say thank you once more and good luck for the rest of the season. See you all at our gaff later in the season.

Thanks

Gary Clark.

Gary

Everyone at Margate Football Club are extremely happy that you are okay after the nasty incident at last nights match and would like to thank you for your kind words on the forum. It is very important to us as a club that we are ready to respond to any such emergency and so to hear your positive feedback is brilliant even if all the guys involved were just doing their jobs.

You can of course use my match report and any photos, there is also a link to the highlights on the web page if you would like to tell your supporters about it.

I hope that your recovery goes well and hopefully will catch up with you at the return game in March

Regards

Paul

Not everything is right at MFC ,but one of the things that is consistent-and does not seem to be a feature at a lot of ryman clubs-is that there is i believe (nearly ) always a qualified doctor on site, and at every game-an ambulance and paramedics in attendance.

haven't the club also got one of those defibrillator thingies ?

good for MFC .

sorry that the gentleman from billericay had to experience it-but good he is recovering well

Always thought the margate fans were a great bunch and apart from the great treatment given to Gary the continual singing and support you gave your team on Tuesday was fantastic. We unfortunately only had a few of us there but as you know from our last visit we also have a great following. Two clubs with similar ideals and fantastic and loyal support. A credit to non league.
