10th to 12th December Matches

Will take a point away on that pitch!

Plenty of teams will drop points as the pitch unfortunately dictates the way the game is played!

Awaiting stans report...........

But did Molesey's AM suggest our pitch is rubbish ?

Well here goes and for some this may uncomfortbale reading ...

First to the match which I thought was (for a 0-0) a thoroughly engrossing match. Both teams fought really hard and defended really well and both sets of players were 100% committed, yes SP I've complimented your defending. I also think the officials had a decent game, despite the constant barracking from the Molesey supporters and bench and constant whining and play acting from the Molesey players, I'd also add the SP bench were no angels with one of them being asked to leave the bench - typical SP! I would say that Molesey probably did enough in the 2nd half to win, they had a lot of possession but couldn't really create any clear cut chances. Closest anyone came to a goal was in the 2nd half when SP hit the post.

But a good result for Epsom with two rivals dropping points, so we're 8 points behind SP with a game in hand and still to play them twice - I'll take that.

Only negative note was the vile Molesey supporters and a constant string of abusive, expletive laden comments - a truly horrible place and one I hope we don't have to go back to next season.

Onwards to Saturday and we wish Croydon FC all the best.

Not the worst 0-0 draw at Molesey.

South Park did hit the post but Molesey created a great chance which Wastell just tipped around the post.

Probably the right result with 11 and 15 for Molesey catching the eye along with Lewington in midfield who put in a great shift.

Lots of well known faces about from various clubs. Very cold at the end of the game and misty.

How was the pitch Chris?

I think you're right Smudge Lavery & Smith are hardly the biggest most physical of strikers, so with the weather turning and the pitches getting heavier doesn't really suit their style - plus the bigger teams like Molesey last night can bully them around.

Stan,I think your winning the Mind Games battle with the Park,1 goal in 2 games is not promotion form.

I wouldn't get too excited yet Stan.

Our next three games are trips to in form Wembley and Raynes Park Vale before we are at home to Windsor. A very difficult set of fixtures, although if you want to win the League, these are the sort of games you need to get the points in.

On 21st Dec we play Windsor while Hanworth are at home to South Park. Clearly an important date in the fixture calendar, but of little consequence if we come away with not much from Wembley and Raynes Park before then.

If you'd been a long term Epsom fan, instead of one that seems capable of hiding in a crowd of 50 each week, you'd know that those sort of games are the ones where we've had trouble in the past and we didn't beat Wembley or Raynes Park at home when we met, so it's about time we ignored South Park and got on with our own business.

Can they.  We are defined as big and physical this year and when South Park beat us they certainly were not bullied.

Went over to knaphill last night must say their facilities are second to none at this level but shame the same cant be said about the team. Can't defend and had very little threat going forward. On the other hand Westfield look a half decent outfit lots of pace in the right areas and 2 of the best centre halves I've seen this year. One thing I would like to know is what all the knaphill people do they had about 5 or 6 coaches standing in the dugout??

And that is what it should be about. Focus on your own games as you have little influence on how everyone else plays.

FT league Cup Epsom Ath 2-1 Bad Lea

FT league MVSCR 2-2 Chessy

Well done Epsom Ath from CCL Div. 1. beating CCL Prem club Badshot Lea.   There asks the question, is there really that much difference between the 2 divisions ?  For me I'd say yes from the top 6-8 Prem clubs after that not much difference.  The main difference I have noticed is Prem is quicker, players seem more fitter and more organised.

You really can't place much importance on one result. I do think there's a significant difference between the divisions, but also with the smallest gap between top 6-8 PL to bottom 6-8 PL since I've been watching.
