Enfield Town v Carshalton

Brilliant to see George back with his great enthusiasm still there. It was a nice touch at the end to go to the supporters behind the goal at give them some applause.

However the players let him and the club down again in the 2nd half. George know knowns he has to move a number of players on and replace them with players who are fitter and want to fight for the full 90 mins not 25 mins as on Saturday.

Come on George lets get them in sooner than later.

The two best performers on Saturday was Tyler Campbell for the first 25 minutes then the last 10 minutes and George's barmyness on the touchline, he could be classed as the Boris Johnson of Football, nonetheless, it was a poor showing once the Tyler inspired adrenaline wore out and we could have lost the game by 4 or 5-2 in the end we chalked up a point which is one more than October and November put together.

George has immense experience and will do things his way, an influx of players would be great, but is it possible? I think it's easier said than done.

Bradley Quintin is a good signing, he talked and managed the team within the field of play, just what the Doctor ordered for starters and Young Ben did'nt look out of place either, it'll be interesting to see and judge him play against tougher opponents.

HOWEVER, I fear the worse if we field the same X1 v Kingstonian this week, could end up on a 5-6 goal hiding, just my opinion.

Wallace, Lockie , Wild , Bardle , Elmes and Olondo would probably be in Steve's team

Wallace lacked confidence this season - perhaps due to the way he was deployed as a lone striker?

Lockie's performances haven't convinced either.

Wild may have played at a higher level, but he's lacked mobility and I doubt Billericay regret letting him go.

Bardle hasn't played very much this season.

Elmes is only just coming back after an unfortunate injury.

Olondo hasn't looked to be the answer to our problems - albeit a neat little player.

I'm hoping George is able to bring in some new faces. I don't see any of the above as key figures in a relegation battle.

Not that strange a post when you think about it . I think Steve would have liked to have been able to field them all in the same team , but injuries meant that wasn't the case. That's football I suppose but those mixed in with a combination of a few others say Hope , Stevens ,Kirby , White, OBrien , Allen, McCluskey , Campbell and Whitely. We will never know though as some have decided to move on since Steve's departure

A lot of the fans had serious concerns about the quality of our squad this season with regards to competing in the Ryman Prem..You could argue that that was down to lack of funds for wages, the quality of players brought in over the last few seasons ,or injuries.ect..There was of course a chance that things might have improved once everyone was available for selection.but there was also a chance is would have carried on getting progressively worse..I personally don't think we've ever replaced Jon Moore or Rudi in midfield.

Time for everyone to move on.Steve was an overall success and a good appointment for the club, but I feel the change of direction was due.I feel it was the right time for the club and for Steve .Hopefully both can move onto bigger and better things. And as a previous poster said, steve will always be welcolme back at the club anytime and his contribution to  the progression of the club will always be appreciated.

I'm sure Saturday will bring a different selection and some further changes. George will have had a further week to assess the players and maybe even get more new players in? Make no mistakes this is Steve's team at the minute but I'm confident George will be able to get more out of them than Steve was doing that's for sure. Rome wasn't built in a day though and it doesn't get much tougher than Kingstonian.
