dannyriding
First half we looked and played the better football but was always going to struggle against the young and (if Im honest dirty tackling) Hastings side that came to town. the first half played out with not too many chances for either side but Margate did look the more confident in mid-field and played the ball with a confidence that belayed what was to follow because we really packed the midfield and tried to force everything through that space, which in all fairness to their management was easy to spot and they took advantage of this very easily in the second half and showed that they wanted to play Maidstone more than us. Was this a managerial mistake or are the players that we have not capable of playing lower league teams to achieve a goal of keeping "US" the watching public entertained. Im really not sure whether the Ref had control of the game or whether the manager knew what to expect from the opposition but from a lowly 103 on a cold tuesday night Im hoping us loyal and true fans can get behind the blue boys when/if ever we can - support in this league is 50% IMO
dflman
We note and wonder at the restrained approach of Danny Ridding. Belayed is a nautical term in relation to using something as an anchor which is what appeared to be going on with the midfield and it didn't work with forward position rarely attained. Some poor passing last night and goals conceded by giving the ball away.
Always Gate
Very poor, no preparation, no thought applied to team selection and why does SO put himself on the teamsheet, surely we have enough players at the club to fill the bench. On the bright side we are hanging on to the upper/middle of the table which is better than the last few seasons. We don't have the worst players in the world, but they could be better if there was more effort by manager and players alike. That's the way I see it ! MOM Mark for buying me a pint, thanks. Please correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't we top of the league this time last year?
wade
Second half was the poorest 45 minutes we have played this season and that is saying something. Hastings offered very little first half looked like a stroll in the park for us - plenty of space in midfield and we should have capitalised. Not surprisingly they changed and tightened up in the middle of the park and we had no answer. Having slept on it I am still fed up.Where is the progress. I am Spartacus
Second half was the poorest 45 minutes we have played this season and that is saying something. That coming from a Fulham fan who is used to some really poor and inept performances is some condemation.
margate lad
got to agree with most of the above. we just didnt look bothered second half. also got to agree with AG. ridiculous SO being named on bench. we have a good youth system set up. ok i believe the 21s had a game last night but im sure one or two of them could have stepped up and then a couple of 18s could have gone into 21s squad, surely thats what our youth progression is about
