V Dunstable Town

I thought maybe up close something would flag up and make some sort of sense but nope turns out even up close there was mass confusion. Some Dunstable fans are even calling for a back pass as far as I can hear. Nobody at all even had the audacity to even half claim it to be a foul. Absolute shocker !!!!!!!

Originally I said I couldn't comment on Lakey's sending off because I thought that I hadn't seen the incident that merited a red card.

What I did see was an excellent and fair challenge that Lakey makes and the video clearly shows the ball shooting up in the air after Lakey makes contact with it.

When a player thinks he is fouled (and sometimes not fouled) when he is put through and has only the keeper to beat, he will scream for a foul. The Dunstable player makes no appeal at all, just gets up and runs off knowing that it was an excellent challenge.

If there's any justice that red card will be recinded.

Does not make me feel any better, just slightly more annoyed.... Anyway now they are done we can now concentrate on a tough game Saturday against AFC hayes...

Eddie is out, he went to the hospital today however their is no break just bad bruising, but will not be fit for the game.

The frustrating thing is even if the appeal is successful the fine still stands as do the disciplinary points. It's just Lakey's suspension that gets overturned.

So, if a red card is recinded i.e. proven to be an incorrect decision and in Lakey's case it was proven to be a perfectly good tackle and not even worthy of a yellow card, the club/player still get fined and the disciplinary points still stand?

Down here the GFA would put it down to admin costs.  Also here there is a deadline to pay, which is so short you are almost bound to be late, after which the fine goes up.  I know to our club's cost.  All local FA's are money grabbing whatsits.
