V Dunstable Town

Neil Baker

Recommended Posts

Squad will be from the following:

Jake Somerville, Wes Harrison, Sean Fraser, Ryan Lake, Guy Hollis, Adam Foulser, Michael Blount, Ben Edwards, Warren Harris, Darren Wheeler, Jamie Mcclurg, George Short, Ollie Burgess, Eddie Smith, Johnnie Dyer, Scott Harris

However we do have a few concerns over Guy, Hatchett and Eddie, we think Hatchett will be doubtful as he got a kick on his calf at the end of the game, and it has swollen up, Eddie has a thigh complaint, but we are more hopeful with him

Also hoping Guy will be fine, but he felt his hamstring again.

Wooze will be out for a few weeks now, as he got a tweak of his hamstring.

I get the impression it's in Jon, Neil and the whole squads nature to always 'go for the win'..... and I'd be surprised if Dunstable aren't the same. I'm sure it will be a great end to end match, but wouldn't be surprised or disappointed if it ends in a draw.

Spot on Curtis, we will never go in to any game looking to settle for a draw.

If you had offered us 7 points from these three big games (Daventry, Royston and Dunstable) then we'd have to say we'd have taken that.......but when you win the first two and confidence is high we are absolutely looking to go for the win tomorrow.

We are very much aware of the quality that Dunstable possess and the confidence they will also have off the back of 8 straight wins but Bakes and I have a huge amount of belief in our lads and feel we are capable of beating anyone on our day. It's a decent pitch over there and I'm sure it will be a cracking game.

Can't wait!

Good luck to the team tomorrrow, flipping cant go as they changed the date to the 4th and had already made arrangements to go out.  No I am not going to a wedding again !!

Still Aidan and Phil will be there, so dont worry Mark if the toilet doors get stuck again, someone will be on hand to get you out !!

So Ryan Lake isn't suspended now,Neil? That's a result with Wooz being injured.

Hope Guy and Eddie pass fit.Be a huge hole to fill if they are missing[no offence to Hatchett].

Nope he is not suspended until next Tuesday, however that does not mean he will be thrown straight back in, as Ben is decent cover at either full back, and was part of a team for 75 minutes on Saturday which kept a clean sheet against a very good team.

Hatchett is 95% out... the other 2 we are hopeful will pass fitness tests!!!

Dunstable Town 3-2 Slough Town. 1-0 to us HT. Comfortable. Smith fouled, last man Leach gets yellow not red. They equalise (Leach scores). Mix up at back, 2-1. Lake sent off after linesman over-rules ref who had played on when Lake had kicked ball 30' in air (not what a striker would do). They score worldy 3rd. Hatchet gets clipped on edge of box and somehow Dyer gets booked. Wheeler scores worldy free kick. Wheeler sent off, second yellow.

Summary: farce of a ref performance, proud of Slough players' battling until the bitter (?!) end. If they are the best team in the league, then we will really not be far away at the end of the season.

Without doubt the worst referring performance I have ever seen. Avery should have been off. Who scores equalizer? Avery! Then he defends everything. The first sending off was a farce with the ref not seeing anything and overruled by a Lino 3 times further away.

Bates and unders feel for you. We were the better team. And deserved far more.

I am literally disgusted by the officiating today.

Feel cheated that we came away with nothing to show for our efforts.

Fully deserved 1-0 lead at half time.

Second half they equalised with a tad fortunate goal and proceeded to take the lead with another goal that can best be described as flukey when an attempted clearance struck someone on the back, I think, and the ball duly rolled across our goal area and ended up in the net. Their other goal was an un-stoppable screamer that clipped the underside of the bar before going in.

Then Wheels proceeded to score a beauty of a free kick into the top corner even though the wall only about 7 yards away and the Ref refusing to pace the ten yards out.

Didn't see the reasons why Lakey and Wheels got sent off so cannot make a comment on them.

I think we can feel gutted but proud of our performance tonight and if nothing else I think it has at least proved that we are as good if not better than a team of obscenely over-paid whingers.

COYR!!
