Lets see how good he is because imo if he was that good why has he been at so many clubs and not stayed. Last Club Enfield, not the biggest of clubs. Hope im wrong and he lights the place up

michael
for me-you can have ronaldo-but if you don't create loads of chances, the best striker in the world would not score that many. is the midfield good enough to create enough chances for the strikers to convert ,remembering that the very best premiership strikers only convert about 1 in 2.5 / 3 chances;so at ryman level , do you realistically need to be creating about 5 chances per striker to get the chance of a goal ? not easy ! michael
It seems Askidodi has very good credentials, and i think will be a good asset. that given, i 'll be relieved to see him in a Margate shirt today;as i read elsewhere he had signed for Hampton (and was a bit envious) so if he has decided to opt for Margate-i will be very pleased. wait till he is on the team sheet though. DomBlueBoy
If Ronaldo or any of the best players/strikers in the world played for Margate , I really don't think they would be worried about getting assists, I would probably say the rest of our players would be a hinderence rather than a help ! I agree that our midfield or any midfield in this league is not good enough to actually "create " 5 goal scoring chances per game. Any player that creates that many chances in a game wouldn't be stuck at this poor level. Would suggest that the majority of goals and goal scoring chances are not created by amazing team play or individual moments of genius, most are created due to mistakes from the other team, corners, free kicks, etc etc I think it was one of our many previous managers in the last few years said the players at this level are playing at this level because; 1) they are on the way down. 2) they are on the way up. Or 3) they have found their level. It's irrelevant which teams this new guy has played for previously, I would suggest he has not joined us because it's always been his dream to play in the Ryman league for Margate. Basically, don't expect too much of them! Believe me, once you realise this and don't turn up at Hartsdown Park expecting to see Barcelona or anything half decent, then it becomes easier to laugh about wasting £10 than crying about it ! Always Gate
Our mid-field ! we have two or three players who win the ball and pass we also have one or two who win it and belt high and wide, imo we should play the passers not a mixture of the two, which we did on Saturday, the substitution was again imo wrong bring on Cesc but take off Samoutis no. I believe they are the best pairing for the middle. And give Azeez more time on the pitch.
michael
i am simply pleased that there are options in midfield;and after a few seasons of neglect-some sort of emphasis is being given to having both numbers and quality available in midfield-and particularly central midfield, but i have no idea who are the best 4 to play-but injuruesand suspensions probably mean -the 'best 4 will only play about once all season anyway. as above -pleased also emphais is on central midfield-where mot of the game is played, rather than have a whole host of these widey/right flank winger /midfieldy fluffy types who race down the wing and then fall over before delivering. (can others remember when as he could'nt sign anyone else-Trott signed about 6 right/midfield/winger types and at one stage there were 11 player in the squad 'qualified' for that one position ) as for who are the best/balanced 4 from kinch, avery, sammoutis , bodkin, whiteley ,ehui ,fakinos -i just have no idea -but a good puzzle for SO to have. you would probably say that avery, kinch ,bodkin are first 3 names plus one other-but does that give the best 'balance 'i think i'd have avery as number one pick-simply because he gives additional defensive cover, and youneed someone for that holding role. bit of a connumdrum for me. 3/4 of them still pretty young-but if they can be kept together-all he younger ones will improve-and looking good for next season-trouble is -at this level-its so hard holding a squad together from one season to the next. Afraid I can't agree with your first choices for the middle, and I don't accept we need good cover in defence, where we are quite adequate, in fact when Beales is fit we could have three at the back with Cox and Dolby as wing backs, allowing Bodkin and Samoutis to control the middle and then Walsh and the new lad whose name escapes me up front, those left out make a strong bench. May I stress this all imo which I feel entitled to give.
michael
i guess true communication is the response that you get;so my communication was very poor. what i was endeavouring to say, was that i have no idea who the best/best balanced midfoeld four would be; 9but delighted there are choices ) but i would have avery in that four regardless, as he is the one true holding midfield player, who plays deeper, but in front of and covers the defence in that regard.
