Crows v The Rebels

Big game on Saturday and you are catching us at the right time for you guys. We are not playing well although a much improved performance from us on Tuesday night at St Ives.

As last year, I would recommend the Green Man in Royston for pre-match food. It has under gone a refit but is still doing the pie and pint deal that some of you took advantage of last year.

Unfortunately I am working this Saturday so will be unable to make the match, however If I get out on time I probably will catch up with you guys for a pint after the match if you will still be there.

Enjoy the day (If not the result!) and will catch up soon.

Jez is telling the truth this time  well some of it   sadly they have some serious internal problems which has split the dressing room and resulted in some players failing to show for training  They need a strong new manager asap and Im told a goalkeeper  I expect us to win this one.

The 16 man squad for tomorrow's game is as follows...

Jake Somerville, Wes Harrison, Dave Woozley, Guy Hollis, Adam Foulser, Sean Fraser, Ben Edwards, George Short, Jamie McClurg, Ollie Burgess, Warren Harris, Darren Wheeler, Eddie Smith, Johnnie Dyer, Scott Harris, Matt Bonnett.

Great to have Sean back in the squad after he has come through our last two training sessions with no problems.

Michael Blount is getting a game under his belt for Badshot Lea and Ryan Lake is unavailable this weekend.

I am personally not 'expecting us to win this one'.

I'm expecting a very close game and if we are not at our best we could quite easily drop points.

BTW Irish, I'd like to know where you've got this detailed info on Royston?

That was quite a stressful afternoon!

Fantastic result, the only downside being an injury to Woozley in the first half. We dominated the first ten minutes and got the early goal through Warren Harris but Royston few into the game and put us under some pressure in the second half. A very heated afternoon with several confrontations and a lot of moaning particularly from the hosts, and a very questionable refereeing performance. We could've been further ahead but their keeper pulled off some good saves - one in particular was a fantastic low reflex save from close range onto the bar.

Man of the match has to go to Hollis or Foulser who were both brilliant but the while team worked to get that result.

Doesn't get any easier on Tuesday but we are looking good! COYR!

Hopefully the man who collapsed at the start of the game is ok.

superb battling performance by all

was a bit worried when Woozley went off injured but the other 3 defenders stepped up and Edwards did well in an unfamiliar role at left back. assume it is a role he has played in the past at least a few times unless it was just a calculated risk. Hollis gets my vote for MoM was superb yet again with Foulser,

Harrison deserves credit as he has filled in for Fraser during his injury and done a good solid job each game. Fraser may even have to bide his time to wait to displace him. certainly no need to rush him back

the way we started so dominantly I thought we could end up scoring 3 or 4 certainly would not have thought the final score would be 1-0

hopefully Smith hasn't done too much damage after falling into the net late on and fingers crossed Wooz is not out long term

doesn't matter if you win 1-0 or 5-0 3 points in the bag. well done to the team for following up the bad loss at Leighton with a great run of wins in the league. puts us in a great position for the months ahead

This was a topsy-tervy match, with both teams having periods of domination. The only difference was that we always looked the more likely to score when we attacked, and didn;t look like crumbling (despite sustained pressure).

In some ways we were unlucky not to win by more goals, as we were desperately unlucky on at least two occasions where we hit the post, and one wherethe goalkeeper missed the ball completely, yet somehow managed to save with his feet!

This was a game we wouldn't have won last year, so there is definitely progress being made.

Is a role Ben Ed has played a number of times in his career, he is just no nonsense  who can fill in anywhere across the back or in midfield, so had no problems throwing him on there, and thought he did really well...

As a few have said we defended really well, and hurt them going forward, some excellent performances all round... we now have to go to Dunstable who are on a similar run of form, this will be really tough, and we have a few injury concerns now with Scott Harris, Eddie Smith touch and go for Tuesday and Wooze probably out for 2/3 weeks.
