Quote from Bad Guy "I do stand corrected, but didn't most of the Horley players leave at the end of last season after Rennie decided to pack it in ...again !"

For the record I did not as you suggest Pack it in ....again.

When i was asked to go back to the Club in the summer of 2011 it was on the clear understanding that it was for 2 years only. My remit was to bring stability back to the club and start the process for who would take over in Summer 2013.

We brought new reserve team managers in in 2011 but that did not work out. I interviewed Trevor in the summer of 2012 and he was an outstanding candidate. I told him then that i would be leaving at the end of the season and that the 1st Team could be his. I thought he did a brilliant job with the reserves and so in January 2013 on my recommendation it was agreed he would take over for the next season. He worked with the 1st team for the rest of the season when reserve team commitments allowed.

I was offered various roles within the club but declined. Mainly because i wanted time to do other things but also because i didn't want Trevor to feel i was in the background. I have not attended many games but have been in constant dialogue with Trevor as we have become friends. He is a true football man and a top bloke.

I only learned of him leaving the club by reading it on here. If the decision is based purely on footballing issues i think it is the wrong decision. He lost an entire first team squad in the summer, without finance that would be very difficult to replace quickly. I do not know if there are other reasons.

I like Trevor and wish him well, i hope he gets a job quickly because he needs football and it needs him.

Anthony Jupp and Chris Weller have done very well as youth Team Managers and in my 7 years around the club both have become very good personal friends. Neither of them want this position at this time, in the future yes, but not now. I wish them luck for however long they are in place.

Padlock thanks for those kind words, I guess you have nothing better to do than tell the world how right you are about everyone elses business. But I'm sure we discuss it further the next time you are at Horley.

Stan the Man thanks for your comments and I'm sure you will sleep better for getting them off your chest. Maybe you can join Padlock on his next visit to Horley and we can have a good old chat about football as you both seem to be the worlds experts on running football clubs.

I wouldnt worry too much about the snake that may live at the club, I'm sure he will retire back under his rock soon enough.

Here, here yet again, exactly FSB, some people think you can wave a wand and everything wuill be fine, but trying to find a competative squad from ''nothing'' without the necessary funds, so promote within and a few players from outside is not an easy task.  I just wonder what Horley thought could be done especially if they want to progress their youth team players.

It was always going to be difficult, so not to sure what Horley were thinking in so far as where they would be standing in the league ?  Things like this take and needs time, it certainly does not fix itself overnight !

Feel real sorry for Trevor who again is a victim of a manager who doesn't bring immediate success with very limited resouces.

There has to be a reality check here surely.!

Well I'm going to stick my neck out here, and say that personally I think Trevor was maybe the right man but at the wrong time, the club needs someone who can bring bodies back through those gates, most games we had more supporters from visiting teams than our own and was quite embarrassing at times, maybe Juppy and Weller can do that and I have a lot of confidence in them and am sure they will do their best in trying to put right so many things that are wrong at the moment, they have a lot of respect within the club and am sure a lot of people will return and support and encourage them, it's not always just aout the football its the club as a whole.

So if I can ask Mark, specifically what were your objectives for this season considering as Ali Rennie says - you pretty much lost the whole 1st team and had no budget at all to assist the new manager in bringing in players - did you seriously think you'd be in any other situation other than the one you're in?

Also you tasked Ali with finding a replacement and he states that if this decision is purely based on football issues then it is a mistake - so was Trevor sacked for non football reasons or do you believe Ali recommended the wrong manager.

I'm not having a dig at Ali here, I imagine his football credentials and knowledge are far greater than yours - therefore why not totally back the man he recommended for the whole season?

Now then Mr Sale, as promised by me in my last comment and as you have chomped I will reply. You have completely avoided my statements. Now hand on your heart tell all of us that you did NOT arrange to sack Trevor after the home match last month. By posting your lies and proving my post last month does not take up much of my time thank you. And yes I do believe I could run a football club better than you are. Just admit it and we all move on. If not carry on and I'll fire another bullet. Bear in mind though I have an awful lot of ammo. Juppy is a bit quiet...............

Hi all.

I know you all thought I was s#*t stirring a few weeks back but this has been on the cards for so long.

Iv watched horley a few times this year and being a footballing person can ensure you all that Trevor had a great team I believe with a little more experience could of done really well. But anyway Mr Sale what was expected of Trevor this season with no budget and a whole new squad.

Like what's already been said a few people quite clearly lack a backbone so I hope horley town for the sake of the community and town sort out this disastrous mess. Anyway ill leave you all with three questions,

1- how long do we

2- will he get a budget from somewhere

3- where will horley finish

I have know Trevor for a long time from when he was at Redhill, and do think he was let down be certain senior players jumping ship.Unfortunatley we lacked a few older heads in the team. We all wish him well for the future I am sure he will be back soon in football.

We also wish Anthony and Chris all the best and hope they can sort the team out and we can start to move away from the wrong end of the table.

So Eye, what this is all about is getting people thru' the door which to a certain degree I can understand.  I presume Jupp and Weller will also have no funds to work with,or as what sometimes happens when a new manager is installed money suddenly appears ?, So other than players wanting to play for them, what difference will there be other that Jupp is a ''legend'' at Horley ....so that will bring people thru' the door ?

If Trevor had the clubs backing and be more patient things would have turned around.

Personally, I think theres more than meets the eye here. Reading between the lines, this appears to be a personality clash?

Here's a question for you ?  What will Jupp & Weller bring to the table which Trevor couldn't to bring supporters back to the

club ?

Remember supporters can be fickle and like to watch a winning team which is natural.  True supporters are exactly that, SUPPORT your club thru' thick & thin..... so questions could be asked of Horley supporters perhaps and the understanding of what tools the manager has to woirk with.

'Bring back the crowds' the most feeble excuse for getting rid of a Manager,I have ever heard.Horley do not very often supply figures for their crowds,on Reg Miles site. The Chairman must realise that their is a recession on surely, money is tight ,crowds are down at most Clubs in CCL,even Windsors,South Park are top of the table, but survive on crowds of 40ish,the reason they utilise their facilities better, and are a together Club, unlike Horley where it seems there is a lot of infighting. Can I ask this question, how much is a Pint at Horley?Trevor mate, you are probably best out of it,a blessing in disguise in my opinion.

Just to let people know I have nothing to do with the committee anymore and have not done for 4 years everything I've said is my own opinion and do not represent HTFC official views
