well firstly canvey fans should'nt be in our stand.

2. canvey people are not edzackly the best behaved people in the world most people in canvey r criminals proberley compared to the decent people on land!

gower is a brilliant player iam a massive fan of his, he's one of the best players we've had for years and once we get a new manager we will be moving up that table.

Boylon was poor though he might score goals at non league but hes poor compared too football league standards should of scored in 1st half but it went well over

Alan as you're moving off of football related topics when referring to our island as 'criminals' - We're not Australia! Kindly let me remind you I have never heard of an illegal immigrant on Canvey grabbing an axe to decapitate an ex-partner right in front of her son on the way to school!!

That case was famous, as it was right near our College.

Also I do not know of anyone on Canvey that has tried to deliberately, repeatedly try to run over a female PC in a stolen car.

Now kindly keep this thread to football related topics please.

Cheers,

Matt CIFC <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Reading some of the moronic postings from Southend followers it reminded me of some statistical analysis of educational trends I had to do for work the other week. Picked up on an interesting fact - every time someone moves from Southend to Canvey, the average IQ of both towns goes down.

Mmmm...

But then the 500 hardy souls who watch your team all the time must have had a lot of trouble motivating the 2,500 hangers-on who followed you lot down to Roots Hall yesterday.

i was at roots hall a little while ago to watch southend get stuffed by lincon (the lincon end) and the 1000 at most southend fans wern't doing much then, where the hell did you manage to drag the other 7000 people from.

and as far as calling us pikeys having lived on canvey and now in southend, well if you feel canvey is pikey then i must now be living in the slums.

and if we are talking about trouble, they must have been canvey fans in disguise in the pub after the game starting trouble with everyone one in a yellow shirt.

lets face it southend played the best i have seen them all season (i watch them get beat alot) and they still only managed a draw. canvey on the other hand played poorly in comparison to how i have seen them play.

no matter the result it will be a good game on wednesday week.

Southend actually got beaten by LINCOLN and it would seem that you Pikeys are not only unable to spell but also you're unable to count as the official attendance was over 2,800. Now, unless the Imps actually did bring 1,800 down to Southend, that makes 2,500 home fans.

The official attendance on Sunday was around 9,300 of which 3,000 seats were sold to the Pikey boys. Removing the 3,000 or so regular fans to Roots Hall, that leaves around 3,300 "extra" fans. That's less double our average. You boys in fact managed to find six times your average wandering out of the (rotten) woodwork. Go figure?

i stick to the 'getting stuffed' missing a penalty was about as close as you came to scoring all game and the rest of the time your defenders just kept hoofing the ball to the lincoLn keeper. plus lincoLn were pretty poor. all in all ending up one of the most boring games of football i have ever seen.

so as far as this attendance thing goes saying that 2500 were yours and 3000 were ours (including i admit alot of hangers on) that leaves 3734 people (assuming your place didnt fiddle the gate (and lets face it everyone does that)) so i think that southend might have had just a few glory hunters as well considering your average home gate for the season is under 3000 including away supporters (2959), so dont start on your petty little high horse about 'canvey having glory hunters' when we both know full well that a vast majority of fans on both sides wont be at either of our games on a cold week night in january. i on the other hand will be going to see both teams. and although i admit to being bias towards canvey. i know who plays the more exciting football and they wear yellow

p.s. sorry about the spelling i went to a southend school!

[color:"red"] Stop talking rubbish and start talking football [/color]

It always seems a shame to me that, when a result goes against a side (a league side only managing a draw against a part-time outfit from the Ryman must be considered in this category) the losers come onto this website and try to change the subject. Rather than talk about their team’s under-performance, various Southend followers have come on here to rant about Canvey being too dirty, the fans being pikeys, the islanders causing fights with totally innocent Southend bystanders, Canvey only bringing ‘hangers-on’ rather than real fans… the list goes on and on.

Wouldn’t it be nice, just for a change, to read an honest account of the game, as seen from a Southend point of view, that although perhaps biased, dissected the game as a piece of football? To talk about the strengths of their side, the weaknesses and the possible direction for what must be an uncertain re-match.

Insulting Canvey fans is rather easy as we simply rise to the jokes, hadn’t you noticed? Why not move on to talking about the replay and instead of the usual moronic suggestions that you are going to stuff us (a reasonable point of view, after all, even if I don't agree with it) go on to say why you think that way. What different tactic would you suggest for your side, especially when the home advantage has gone?

Please, someone from Southend, come on and start debating football. That’s the reason Ian set this discussion board up. If you want to simply hurl abuse at us, do a search for John Crawshaw; he had it down to a fine art and you will never compete with his stupidity or the mirth that he caused. But you might start a decent line of banter if you started talking football and let us know your opinions on why your side failed to beat us, why your future in the football league looks to be depressing (or does it? Can Webby work miracles?) and why you think you can pull something out of the bag on 19th.

Well my opinions on canvey performance are these:

In the first half once you scored you looked very very dangerouse and i was very worried. You played some lovley football and you should of gone into the lead when boylon was 1 on 1 with flavs but sadly for you boylon put it over.

2nd half i was disapointed by canvey as apart from a shot from duffy we had all the poccession but again we could'nt score as like many games this season there was no foward in the box. Sufc teams selection was poor we should of played constintine our top scorer up with bramble this in my view would of helped us more. Defensivley ward/chenary were very good and i was very suprised to hear that cheneray had not been playing recently. So overall canvey did do ok but they could of done better if they did'nt play for a draw. If you played properley you could of easily scored again especally with our ediotic defender warren playing.

In the replay i see it being a very close which you will be favourites for but i can see us nicking a goal. As away from home we are playing very well and winning games.

I don't agree Canvey are favourites for the replay, but there is certainly more pressure on them as the home side than there was on Sunday. I think it will be another close game - I just hope Canvey can get through the first 2 mins without conceding this time around !
