I have complete faith in Heathy. Terrific appointment. Only worry is how he'll attract players from the Bedfordshire catchment area!

So do we. Its probably time we looked outside Bedfordshire. We are only a couple of miles from Hertfordshire and its a county we have never looked at and that's were Steve comes in.

Distance=wages? Would be good to hold onto BJ and some others- don't want to see them drift into Sunday League

Don't mean to interrogate or be negative- I honestly want only the best for AFC! Just interested!

Not the best pitch though.

first time i have ever heard anyone ever say anything negative about the pitch, are you sure

Holmer Green whats changed down there ? they are on fire at the moment.

Yep a massive slope, grass cut a bit ruff, some white lines markings looked smeared and plenty of sand in one goal area in front of the kop end ;) .

Not the worst pitch but not the best pitch in my opinion.

But like I said in a earlier post I really liked Tring Athletics ground and clubhouse a lovely ground to watch a game of football in my opinion.

Would not get too carried away with their win today. A massive transition is going on at AFC at the moment.

They have still scored 10 goals in two League games against you lot and they beat Berkhamsted 4 2 away not bad in my eyes. Most teams would be very happy with those stats.

Savagebee - Thanks for giving Wisezola a taste of his own medicine

Just my humble opinion Mr Rhodes.

That happens all the time, it is like dropping from Prem to Div 2 in the SSMFL. Or for another example, Alex Campana at Kings Langley who has dropped 3 divisions.

Some players do it to play with mates, others like to win trophies, others just to play regular football. Pretty sure if the Oxhey players who went to Belstone wanted to stay at the Prem level they could have done, but they chose to play at Belstone.

Was anyone at the Oxhey Jets game? Controversy central over there. I was standing by the goal and I have to say, the keeper just dropped a clanger. Oxhey's on the spot photographer did VERY well to catch the split second it appeared to be in the goalies hand. But after that it just slipped out, I actually quite clearly heard the goalie say "whoopsie" as it spilled into the net. However, that didnt stop the usual biased report on the website. Sometimes you just have to admit when you've lost to the better team.

All that aside, cracking game and a great advert for ssml. Good to be back!

Was speaking to a chap at the game called Matt who spilled the beans and unfortunately it wasn't as it exciting as the rumours I've heard.. He said that they believed two things - 1. That they would comfortably win the league this year and 2. That sufficient ground work wouldn't take place at fortress Boundary.

Knowing that they couldn't go up even if they won the league, a lot of them left, coupled with various reasons. Some are playing higher, some have stopped altogther, one has a season ticket at Tottenham (poor sod), one has a gf in Liverpool who has all but stopped him playing and 3 have, or are expecting little ones and couldn't keep up the commitment that ssml demands. All in all, nothing nasty like some of the rumours I heard. Still a great shame though.
