Slough v Daventry

We are not calling each other names just disagreeing with each other on a point. No name calling so no slagging off.

So say you said you preferred Windsors ground and I said No Beaconsfield is better I'll be slagging you off??????

No it's just a disagreement.

Agree, it's just peoples opinions and they just happen to differ, which is what forums are all about. I certainly can't see any slagging off going on.

OMG Eddie if he is the one that came into the bar after the game he is huge !

It must be a completely different team from last year as I dont remember them being that big, unless they have all been eating loads of weetabix during the summer !

Funny enough Sue, I've always been commenting how BIG Daventry teams always are.

I think they must get the ruler out before they sign a player to make sure they are the correct size height

I see that readingrebel has hijacked this thread quite nicely :)

I thought this was a thoroughly professional performance and fully deserved three points against a side who will be there or thereabouts at the end of the season. 2 superb goals from Dyer, and we never looked like panicking when Daventry got a goal back. Quite unlike Slough team's from years gone by!

It just makes me sick about the performances against Beaconsfield and Leighton!

That's what I like Nathan, positivity!

BTW you forgot Northwood and the draw against Aylesbury United.

Teams will always have their off days at any level.

Just on Beaconsfield, our team that day had no Guy Hollis, Adam Foulser, Ben Edwards, Eddie Smith, Warren Harris or Darren Wheeler..... through either injury, unavailability or 2 games in 3 days too much (i.e Warren and his gilmores groin, Eddie and his knee) some very strong players missing that day!!!

Neil..........but you had your smaller squad then !!

I think since then we have only added the 2 young lads from the youth team (Seb and Matt), with the main core being the 17 that we had at the start of the season.... obviously there have been one or two that have signed as cover i.e Nathan Jack, Rob Carrick, Danny Burnell etc, but the squad has been from the same group of players all season in reality.

One thing that is certainly true under your management style,Neil,is that you and Jon don't make changes for changes

sake.

Forgetting injuries, you can usually tell the line-up of your side, within reason, that's going to take the field. This never

happened when SB was in charge. You could never predict his line-up ever,as he didn't pick on form.

I believe your way is best although I do like the use of different formations/systems which you don't tend towards.

So far this season I've enjoyed the football your side is producing. My only disappointment thus far was losing Victor

Osubu who I thought offered us something different from the three strikers we have but obviously I understand the

reasons for his departure.

Strange how people see the game 3spirit, I did not mind losing Osubu as in the one game he did play for us I thought he was lazy and thought he was better than he actually is......thats not to say he is as it was just one game but on that appearance it does not represent what our team is all about.

I have been very impressed by the work ethic we have under Neil/Jon and also teh commitment of not just the players but our management. Both Neil and Jon have come on here numerous times talking about our opponents and how well they played in this game and that and must spend every night watching some form of a non league game, very impressed thus far

Agree with you,Mark44 about our managers, they have been excellent so far and have arrived at the right time to nudge our beloved club along.

Perhaps their wives should be presented with medals at presentation night for letting them off the ball and chain ! lol !

Steve Easterbrook deserves the plaudits, too, for making the right appointment.Something the club in the past hasn't got

right often.

As for Victor Osobu,he's currently playing for Harrow Borough in a higher division,so proves he isn't that bad.

I prefer Charlie Mpi or Jerome Anderson[good natured players] but sometimes keeping 'known on the circuit' players

can be a bigger headache, given their often inflated and temperamental egos.

Can see why Bakes and Unders prefer 'a tight ship' and their current squad has a good balance and seems a harmonious

bunch, when looking from this outside to their in. Long may that continue.

Having said all that,I still believe we are one striker deficient in the squad, regardless.
