Why would Neil or Jon      "diplomatic and sensitive to being critical of any of your players"   if they

"came on and done a job for us"

Maybe They're right and you are wrong, They would know what a players been told to do in a game.

Not sure what you mean,Slough Kitman?

Think I've made my opinion clear and accept what Neil is saying.Right or wrong is irrelevant. I'm not questioning Neil's instructions to George. My observation was I thought George would have been more energetic and dynamic than he seemed to

muster from his sub appearance.

Are we not allowed to comment on anything relating to players performances?! What a dull forum this will become,if we

just keep sucking up to every decision our management make, and keep giving false praise to average performing players!

It's not like I'm singling George out all the time,as I think he's played well in recent games and Neil knows my opinion on the talents of 'Wooz'.

AND they were big, granted not as big as the 33 for Mansfield, but they sure had some man mountains out there !!

Lets not forget our Jake who was brilliant as well, great result well done everyone. My man of the match is ALL OF THEM.

Of course the biggest one of them all, Liam 'the tank' Dolman was missing through injury.

Totally agree,it was a great win but on another day could easily have swayed the other way,as we faded in the 2nd half and struggled to maintain our attacking/creative passing, which we had done so well in the first half.

Yes,I know,I'm nitpicking!

Hopefully,it's a good time to play Royston, now their manager has left.Would be great to pick up another 3 points,if we can.

Not having a go, just saying as Neil said George came on and done 100% what he was told to do. And Neil said that in his reply, so he wouldn't need to be

"diplomatic and sensitive to being critical of any of your players"

If they have done what they have been told to do.

And as I've said only Neil and Jon know what a player has been told to do.

And yes this is a forum so all allowed to say so and so.

I don't think it was a case of us fading in the second half. A team of Daventrys quality are always going to periods of the game when they are on top, they were not a team we were going to "murder" at home.

if this game was at the start of the season we would have lost, the team has gelled together superbly now and should rightly be considered as a top 5 team in the league.

OMG Eddie if he is the one that came into the bar after the game he is huge !

It must be a completely different team from last year as I dont remember them being that big, unless they have all been eating loads of weetabix during the summer !

To be honest,I didn't think Daventry were that good on Saturday.Apart from hitting the crossbar and having one shot

cleared off our line,I thought we coped fairly well with their general play.I believe rightly or wrongly, that the best

form of defence is to take our game to the opposition.

This is the point I'm trying to make, for me we created little in the 2nd half and lost our way a bit in attack. This is

why we need up tempo substitutes.Darren Wheeler was poor in the second period, too.

I'm not a mind reader to know what Neil and Jon's instructions were,at Saturday's match and from my view can only talk

about it post match but I thought given he's our tallest player,he never got near to winning a header or did he look to

ruffle the feathers of our opponents or to get the ball down and take on their defenders.

At the time,I thought George was the right player to come on.

Now I think Ollie Burgess would have been the better pro-active player to bring on.

Doesn't matter,we got the points fair and square but we were lucky that Johnny Dyer provided us with a bit of magic to

effectively win it for us,rather than conceding a Daventry equalizer IMO.

I think George has played brilliant this season! In fact I think am starting to avoid this forum even when a win we are picking at little things! The players are going to start to think you've got it in for them! Just my opinion but so negative all the time on here

Poppycock,Hammer Rebel! The time to support the team is at the game. The forum is for debate and discussion.

I haven't said George Short is a bad player. I just believe that substitutes/squad players can make a difference in games

rather than just being used as injury replacements.

Don't agree with you that he has been brilliant the whole of the season so far but he is a excellent prospect and a

player learning his craft. When he's started of late,he's been worth his place but does have a tendency to drift in and

out of games.

As a substitute in the Daventry match, just thought he should have offered more than he did do.That is all I'm saying.
